Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

The Ze has the latest firmware installed and no long scale mode is activated. I never had that problem with the 3849r1.

ok, so Large Scale AI models are available, simply you have more false positives on them..

False positives from WHAT? What objects creates them? Any footage / pics of alarms?

Also did you have enabled animal detection?

I remember that you reported false positives on this scene and didn't answer for any my question..
I posted a video where the object is recognized on the left. Yes, with that mode I would have even more false alarms.

Trying the HLC=1 suggestion. Pretty much same as mild Defog

No HLC / then HLC 1

It does help tame the bright overexposed tree across the canal, but I lose too much at the shed door and get dancing pixels.

Its always going to be a tradeoff on this scene.
I measured 500lux in the corner by the camera and 1860lux just 12 ft forward on the deck.
Its primary purpose is close-in ID and I have 2 other cameras watching the dock and canal so ..

Have you tried altering the gamma setting? After switching to the 8/27 firmware, I found the gamma setting to have quite an effect upon the image--more than on the 5442, for example.
 
yes have been playing with it. Havent updated to the new FW yet so likely tomorrow. I had a suspicion it might have an effect.
I actually mentioned the possibility pages back. It kinda looks "over gamma'd" :rofl:
 
Here's an animated GIF (generated from PNG snapshots downloaded directly from the camera) showing the difference (with my scene) between HLC OFF and HLC=1.

That's quite a bit of difference visually ... plus look at the Histograms. Seems puzzling to me that setting HLC to just ONE (the scale goes to 100) would make this much difference (and look at the boost on the lower end (check out the shadows/bushes/rocks in the lower left) ... from HLC?!?) ... which you can also see on the live feed.

Straight from the Web5.0 Operations Manual, here is what HLC is supposed to do:
Enable HLC when extreme strong light is in the environment (such as toll station or parking lot), the camera will dim strong light, and reduce the size of halo zone to lower the brightness of the whole image, so that the camera can capture human face or car plate detail clearly. The higher the value is, the more obvious the HLC effect will be.

It's doing a LOT more than that when just barely turned on!

you can always go down with exposure compensation..

We’ve used it for years for car headlights and bright spots shining towards the camera.
The downside during the day is that it darkens the image close in sometimes a bit too much.

Tried that and it actually works better than any of the other methods for that scene!
