URGENT!!! There will be new DMSS 2.0 and new cloud account mode & new cloud video streaming

The whole major changes to Dahua P2P services, NVR updates, shutting down support for Smsrtpss , in the summer of ‘24, was about security updates…

I've got another NVR second hand from ebay DHI-NVR5432-16P-4KS2E, I cannot get pop up notifications on the android app, it does not send any notification whatsoever. Does anyone else here uses android and could shared some feedback about notifications?

I can confirm this, just tested in a phone which did not had DMSS installed previously. Installed it from play store and could add device without logging in. "Maybe later" was there - as it should.
Have you tried recently? I don't have that option. They want me to log in for everything except IP/Domain. Can't even search LAN.

This has now been going on for couple of months, and I have had to assist my customers to make an account (the captcha is just ridiculously difficult!) and share devices to their employees/colleagues/family members. Lot of extra work compared to the old way, but I hope it is worth it if the privacy now gets better.

My work just installed a Dahua NVR NVR64CH-8XI.
Without any reading of instructions, we just scanned from the P2P screen, the SR code, then the DMSS code... logged in. It was our first time using the new DoLynk system and worked without any hitches for my 2 tech's.
My 2 tech's phones are Android and things just worked flawlessly.
Just like we did with Toshiba business phone systems for nearly 30 years, my tech's will be the super-admin while the customer will be a regular admin (or whatever is 1 step under super-admin). The customer will be made aware of this as well (nothing hidden in secrecy). I think I'll add into the sales paperwork that my company will be super-admin. If they choose to change that and they want to become super-admin, they waive all rights of my company being responsible for troubleshooting & training.
Simply sent an 'invite' to the customer's email to download DMSS. The customer has an iPhone and for some reason, the iOS store did not have the 'download' button available for DMSS. Luckily, found alternate download at cnet.com for iOS. Weird.

I understand WHY Dahua is going this route: they control the security on the backend, ease of firmware/security updates for all products, all DoLynk products (home alarms, cameras, whatever else Dahua gets fingers into) available on 1 DMSS comprehensive app for programming, viewing, notifications, etc. Toshiba did the same with their phone systems (well, not just Toshiba but all the Big 5 for business phone systems). And I agree this is the way.

Probably good for installer businesses like yours, hopefully us DIY'ers can block it

I would assume that comes with a monthly/annual service contract? It's a built-in subscription model

There are a few reasons behind DoLynk Care and it being a cloud service.
Some installers have been holding back on giving the client admin password, until payment is made to them. With DoLynk care the installer is able to 'Lend' the devices and revoke, or 'Deliver' when payment is made.
There is also expanded business opportunity for a maintenance servicing deal, if the customer wishes for the installer to receive status information from the device. E.g. camera gone offline.

DoLynk Care is optional!
Installers add devices into DoLynk care, add to cloud and add to a site management.
They don't have to use it for setup. They can delete from DoLynk Care as well.

Update's still work the same as from the NVR. NVR reaches out to Dahua servers for newest firmware > NVR reaches out to DoLynk Care updating status that an update is available.
Prior problem was installers creating a DMSS account, then changing the email to the customer's after the job is complete.
