Have you tried recently? I don't have that option. They want me to log in for everything except IP/Domain. Can't even search LAN.I can confirm this, just tested in a phone which did not had DMSS installed previously. Installed it from play store and could add device without logging in. "Maybe later" was there - as it should.
There are a few reasons behind DoLynk Care and it being a cloud service.Probably good for installer businesses like yours, hopefully us DIY'ers can block it
I would assume that comes with a monthly/annual service contract? It's a built-in subscription model
Update's still work the same as from the NVR. NVR reaches out to Dahua servers for newest firmware > NVR reaches out to DoLynk Care updating status that an update is available.I understand WHY Dahua is going this route: they control the security on the backend, ease of firmware/security updates for all products, all DoLynk products (home alarms, cameras, whatever else Dahua gets fingers into) available on 1 DMSS comprehensive app for programming, viewing, notifications, etc. Toshiba did the same with their phone systems (well, not just Toshiba but all the Big 5 for business phone systems). And I agree this is the way.
Yes, you do not require the cloud storage and/or paying a subscription for DMSS to continue working.Hopefully we can opt out
Of course I wont update my app for another 6-8 months after release anyway to give them time to sort out the bugs.
Enjoy Beta testers!
I haven't heard so.Free for both IP as well as P2P connected?
Still get free alerts?
I fear that at some point you may get free viewing via DMSS but be forced to pay to connect to their P2P servers for alerts
