BTW, if you think that setting the the "3D & 2D NR Levels" to ZERO means no NR, that is still NOT the case ... as even when they are both 0, toggling the "3DNR" button does a fair amount in a low light scene when you are "pushing" the camera.
If you set NR to zero it seems likely given the way AI-ISP is probably working that it's going to apply NR anyway as it can't perform it's improvements without, either that, or it's going to also set AI-NR to zero in which case you're going to get a completely unprocessed picture which has the potential to be terrible if the AI still applies the same levels of gain (assuming that's what it does).
The big questions I'd be asking is does setting it to Zero turn off or reduce the overall NR processing, or does it actually force it to apply more AI NR to make up for the fact the picture is probably more noisy in the 1st place? It's possible you could get more AI NR by setting manual NR to zero.
The question is does this happen and if it does, is the quality better under AI NR or a combination of manual & AI NR together?
Is there also a sweet spot between manual and AI NR combined?
Does reducing the manual NR setting affect only the AI-NR processing or does it also affect the levels of gain that might be applied?
