B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Smart Object Detection: R1515332.0_V1.005.0000000.0.R [NEW]

this was mentioned on Dahua internal 5x59-PRO presentations, that it will be released in Q4 2024...
question what this is exactly doing?

Great question @steve1225 - maybe it flags UFO's ... or "transparent guys on golf carts" ;-)

Someone else mentioned this, and now that I have the new firmware running, I can see under IVS->Effective Target, there is a NEW option called "Other" is listed next to "Human", "Motor Vehicle", and "Animal"

I wonder if that is the New “Other” filter on the IVS rules now?

Here it is with Smart Illumination turned on.

Is this fixed with the latest FW or is there a problem with my cameras/settings. For me Smart Illumination has worked so far (I am on stock Firmware/latest avalable on Andy's website) however the issue with illumination on my end is that when cameras switch from BW to Color/Illuminated mode - there is a massive stutter for 1-2seconds and it is visible in recorded videos as well - it basically drops down to 0-1 FPS.

Improvement on night color, changed some settings... still some work to do but I think its better?

Tomorrow night I'll work on new settings for B&W/IR

(j/k This is a New - bought from Amazon yesterday - 5442 Z4 S3 with a whole 30 minutes of image tweaking;))

*Added B&W/IR test sample. Still needs tweaks but for 30 whole minutes of testing its close.
Running 3-5ms Exposure vs 8.33ms on the 54PRO

@bigredfish buddy, can share some 5442-Z4E video too for a compare for the full color, aha i checked a lot haven't find the full color video at night from 5442-Z4E. Thanks!

Speaking of the 5442 ... and sorry if I missed someone pointing it out ... but @EMPIRETECANDY has new firmware for the "IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3" on his website that was uploaded in mid-November.

I'm currently running "V3.142.15OG003.0.R, Build Date: 2024-12-21" ... with the new "IPC" file saying V3.142.0000000.8.R.250826 ... which appears to be the latest from Dahua itself and the Release Notes say:

1.1 V3.142.0000000.8
Release Date
August 26, 2025

Fixed Bugs
● Fixed the issue where intelligent functions were incorrectly shown as No in the ONVIF Profile M certification report.
● Fixed the issue where connecting to a 4G router caused data usage. Third-party Access
● CGI testing tool: V2.91.3.21.
● ONVIF testing tool: V24.12.
● ONVIF: Supports Profile S, Profile G, Profile T, and Profile M.

1.2 V3.142.0000000.4
Release Date
December 21, 2024

Doesn't appear to be much ... but thought I'd point it out since I happened to notice it.

Added B&W/IR video from the 5442 Z4-S3 to post above #267

I'm sorry but there's no comparison in image quality between the 5442 S3 and the 54PRO.

It obvious in my tests and those of @tmxv4128

Just for fun last night, I tried the B54PRO-Z4E as a LPR. The setup position appears to be the perfect angle. The B54PRO to capture the plate and the 4K-X to identify the car in passing.

Odd how that plate pops with all that headlight glare....

Is that a @tmxv4128 image enhancement on the license plate?!?

As someone who fiddled with LPR cameras several years ago for our HOA, the plates really do "light up" with an IR illuminator ... and if there is LPR processing on the camera, it may further enhance it (plus put the the alphanumerics in a searchable database, etc.) ... but can't say I've seen one lit up in such stark detail as that one.

Awesome! Impressive how the Overexposure routine kicks in when the headlights are dead head on. Unless its HLC..

Well he does have a straight on shot which does help.

I would be interested in seeing the settings and distance.
The end of the asphalt driveway is 60 feet. After playing around with the settings, I returned it to the normal night settings for tonight, so I didn't write anything down. I just remembered reading the common settings that all of you have posted and started about 1/1000 sec. and just experimented. Got lucky on the first try I guess. :)
