B54PRO-Z4E first impression

While browsing my NVR today, found a clip that was saved on my NVR with the same cat, same time, 13 days apart. On the left is the B54IR-Z4E-S3, and on the right is the B54PRO-Z4E.
This clip definitely shows how much better the S3 is in dim lighting conditions. I'm going to swap cameras again tonight and go back to the S3. Disappointed that the new firmware for the PRO didn't make a noticeable improvement. (Maybe I'll feel differently when an elephant, lion, bear, monkey, or tiger visits my yard!) Word of advice: pick up a B54IR-Z4E-S3 before they are all gone!

Great clips! This strengthens my previous opinion that what may be happening is the Pro is managing low light by boosting Gain etc, then AI is smoothing the noise out (along with the detail). At least that's my interpretation. The actual mechanim could be different but to my eyes that's what I'm potentially seeing. I agree with BigRedFish, the sensor doesn't appear capable of really low light imagery without the trickery.

I’d just like to state, again, for the new folks who haven’t read the dozen or so threads on the 54PRO topic:

It’s not that it’s such a bad camera, it may suit your needs. It IS generally brighter, esp with the white LEDs activated naturally, on static scenes without movement.

It’s just that with movement, the sensor is obviously more noisy than that used in the 5442 S3 (or S2)

It doesn’t matter much when looking at a deer at 50-100ft, it’s still obviously a deer.
It DOES matter greatly when looking to ID a bad guy face at 15-20ft, which for me is the primary purpose of a residential surveillance camera
