B54PRO-Z4E first impression

That cat is moving slow I know but still looking pretty good, wish people and cars moved that slow

Similar with my B54IR-Z4E S3, faster shutter and always brighter, source of great frustration at this point to be honest.
Exactly. The B54IR-Z4E S3 captured a lot more light, but I am being patient with this installation. I'm going to give it more time to see if I can make it look better. Weather hasn't been very accommodating the past few days. My sense is that something electronically, rather than optically is going on behind the scenes. I think something is going on internally with the processing of the B54PRO-Z4E to control the contrast and tonal range. For instance, when the fog came in, it is apparent that the camera was trying to compensate and started to alter the contrast and brighten the image. At times, the image looked the same as it would on the camera it replaced--the B54IR-Z4E S3 (the trees that are 224' away in the distance could easily be seen, as in the previous camera). As soon as the fog lifted, the image reverted to being darker and more contrasty.

Looks like he got dinner! Good kitty

I'm seeing the same noise that I'm experiencing on the ZE. Notice at the beginning when he moves to his 2nd position the noise as he moves which finally stops just as he passes into a light beam right before he sits?

*(BTW to those playing at home, you can't judge the image on a frickin phone. On a real computer monitor go to 100% to see whats really going on)

And yeah the fog shows obvious digital processing... yuck
Good observation. Yes, definitely the same noise is present in this camera as the ZE. One thing I should note is that while I was recording the cat clip, I was playing around with the encoding settings. 99% of the time I have my cameras set for H.264.H, 15fps, 10,240 bit rate (or even higher), but during this cat video, I was trying out H.265; so the artifacts around the cat could have been the compression blocks from the encoding. I'm back on H.264.H, but sometimes I get bored and like to try new things (settings) for fun just to see how everything reacts. In regard to digital processing, it reminds me of the first time I ever saw it in action back in the 80's with digital pause on a VCR. Very disconcerting. Hope that gets cleaned up in a firmware update.

Teaser pic.

56ft to the pole/stop sign

This is being purposed to capture humans walking in color on the street out front.
The advantage is running white LED's full time, stacked on top of the 4K-X that runs white LEDs full time, and my weak ass candle powered street light.

Still much to do and I'll have to raise it a bit to zoom a bit more.
Running 5.2 ms

Its quite dark.

Looks like that will work quite well indeed, can read the numbers on that pole! Which model 54Pro is this? turret or bullet? sorry, probably mentioned and I've read prior to this post.

Looks like you have plenty of light. I adjusted one of my security lights to give a some more light out on the street. Yours looks well balanced.

Thx

I'll have to call it a night, have some other stuff I gotta do before I crash.
Back at it tomorrow. But this noise is driving me nuts

Thats not bad at all. Not too much blur, but man the noise... still usable. I just think the 5442 S3 is better

I'll try 0-4ms standby
