Setup: Cam link here
What I'm trying to do:
Questions:
Appreciate any pointers. Thanks.
- Mount: on a bracket about 24" off the right corner of the building, roughly [X] ft above grade
- Coverage: ~270° of usable view
- Key areas: front door at ~[X] ft, dumpster at ~[X] ft
- Lighting: [IR at night / parking lot lights / etc.]
What I'm trying to do:
- Run a 270° tour once per hour, then return to a home preset covering the door and dumpster.
- When a human is detected, auto-zoom in tight on them.
Questions:
- Is this best done with a Tour vs. an Auto Scan, and does the Idle Motion / auto-home timer reliably pull it back to the preset after the tour?
- Does IVS keep working during the tour, or do I need SMD/AI Tracking instead since IVS rules are tied to a fixed preset?
- For the zoom-in behavior — is Auto Tracking the right tool, or should I use a tripwire/intrusion rule with a linked preset?
Appreciate any pointers. Thanks.
