Dear Grady, since there are all of those other data that you use and Flock data is not that important, why fight those that want it removed? Just stop using it.

As JP said, there is a telemetry module that send this data to RAM. There is no data in there that could be used to deny warranty. Except maybe if you never get the oil changed. I like the health reports. Especially the ones that show an issue that arises and then when I go to the dealer for warranty repair, they say they don't see the issue, I show them the email with the error.
The collection of data from the vehicle is a double-edged sword though. While it can be a useful tool to monitor vital information, it also collects info on your driving habits, your location and other information to provide the data to data-brokers, insurance companies, Law Enforcement, etc.
They don't need you to have a phone anymore to track your movements - the vehicle does.
Doing business with State Farm and want a discount on your auto insurance and don't mind being monitor/tracked/watched?

Like it says the beacon pairs with your phone via their app, so you need your phone with you for it to work. We have State Farm, but I have trouble using it. For some reason if the State Farm app is installed on my phone, I get no notifications from my cameras. Yes the report is nice, so it reports engine codes/problems too? My report is pretty basic, I get the same info inside the truck. Mileage/Tire pressure/Oil What I do get extra is Recall notices on the report, which I also get in the mail
After seeing a post about Ins. companies using Flock to get info/video/images to see if the Claim made had damage before the claim, which may not be true, YET, I am getting more and more concerned with all of this personal data being sent everywhere without my knowledge or consent (unless I missed the consent part like most people do in policies/contracts that we signed/check Yes to).
What other info is being sent to RAM, yet we only get a few things on our Reports? Excessive braking/stops?, like the guy with the dogs running up to his vehicle when he got home and his Ins. company tripled his premium because his vehicle's info got to the Ins. company...or quick lane changes, speeding, running over children
to name a few...Not trying to be a Worry Wart about all of this, just bringing up questions/thoughts. After my Warranty is up with RAM, I am sure I will get under my hood and disconnect this Cell Tower Calling Invasive Device, haha...
Another aspect is protection of your information. With what I've seen myself, the companies say they'll not sell your personally identifiable information and keep it safe and secure. In some cases it's a flat out lie, in other cases another company down the line is able to associate the non-identifiable info with individual people. The companies are sitting on an asset they can unfortunately sell for money. How many will walk away from that on principle? Even before the web, if you gave to a charity, you were often soon bombarded with requests from other charities.

Even if there's a standup company out there somewhere that doesn't sell or share info, it will eventually get hacked and/or misused.

I've gotten 2 emails in the last 3 months of companies that I deal with (cell provider, credit card bank) that have had security breaches and "my personal info" may have been compromised.
I hate when you go somewhere and are told by logging into their system your data is safe. Like Healthcare portals, man-o-man would Drug Companies/Pushers love to get their hands on that Data...
