US Elections (& Politics) :)

IMHO one of the best summaries of the situation the USA is in now.
I agree this is good. We complain about the dumb and/or crooked politicians, yet we keep electing them. This 2-team good vs. bad mentality is so ingrained in so many people that I don't think it will ever be fixed short of a big crisis, and then it's only temporary. Just look at 9/11, we had a new bad guy and all came together against him. Then as that faded away we turned against ourselves ourselves again. People seem to be hopelessly stuck on this 2-team model, and the puppetmasters at the top very easily use it to manipulate and control the masses. Now the government is saying that the officer in Minneapolis has internal bleeding. Naturally I have no personal knowledge. The problem is that I don't believe anything the government says, and this sure looks like damage control in reaction to the public not believing what they're told they should believe.

I disagree with his assessment of "the cop shouldn't have been in front of the car." At the time he went in front of the car, she was not moving. She was in reverse prior to that, and abruptly moved forward. I'm not exactly sure how he is supposed to get from the passenger side to the driver side without either crossing in back (with reverse lights on) or in front. And while this may be a policy, and based on his statistics of cops getting run over more than they are shot, it doesn't take away his right to defend his life, and is utterly meaningless in the legal analysis of this case.

Ultimately he was 100% justified in shooting as he feared for his life.

from various shooting self-defense channels, there is reaction time and a fast draw time would be 1.5-2 seconds

Thus, I can see the driver not planning to hit the leo, and I can see the leo reacting to stop the vehicle.

At this point, we as a society have to find a way to de-escalate this.

Probably the best way is to have a formal inquiry and demand that the anti-ICE protestors step away from ICE and that some review of ICE actions are done to ensure they are following laws ( example, documentation of everyone arrested or detained as well as allowing families to check in an know where their loved ones are .. )

Reality is hard for some.
Did you see the post where Trump said we shouldn’t have an election?

His words Sparky
Look, ctgoldwing is a fan of yours now!

Sparky? OK, be safe.

I agree... de-escalation would be great. However, you have Federal law that needs to be enforced, and whackos like Walz and soy-boy Frey whose position is that they don't want Federal law enforced. It is perfectly clear who is right and who is wrong in this situation, yet the idiots on the left keep rallying their side to fight law enforcement.

How in the hell do you find middle ground here?

I guess police can bust in and shoot me for my own welfare now?.

"Hello police? Yes, I'd like for you to check on my uncle. I have not heard from him in a few days and I want to ensure that he is safe and healthy. Thank you

!""Police, open up!""No! Got a warrant?"

"No, we don't, but sir, we just want to see that you are safe. Open up!"

"No, I'm fine! Leave!"... and then the police break in the door, find a confused or scared man with a gun, and kill him.

"Hello uncle's relative, this is the police. We found your uncle alive but armed... so we shot him dead."

Now, that doesn't make me want to call for a wellness check on anybody I actually like, does it?

There are multiple places to place blame in this situation, that didn't have to happen. I see it as analogous to a plane crash where there's rarely a single cause, but several contributing factors that all happen to come together at the same time. Maybe if the traitor politicians didn't throw gas on the fire, the ICE people wouldn't be so edgy. Maybe if the ICE people didn't toss people around so violently, the traitor politicians wouldn't be as aggressive. In the Minneapolis situation I think the most tragic part was the "wife" shouting directions to the deceased person. Without her yelling "drive, drive " (approximately), the shooting might not have occurred. Without her having distracted and egged on the ICE people, the shooting might not have occurred. I'm still of the opinion that the officer firing was a wrong decision, maybe if he hadn't been previously dragged by a car he might not have fired.

A few decades ago I was driving near downtown St. Louis on a hot summer evening and made a wrong turn into a neighborhood I didn't belong in, and attracted a lot of attention from the many people out in the street. I seriously began to fear for my life, and if they had begun to surround the car I would have fled out of fear, even if I had to run down somebody to do it. Because of this I can see how the deceased woman might have considered fleeing out of fear, and with the wife yelling at her to do it, it could well have pushed her over the line.

Agree. It takes two.

When the leader of the country routinely attacks anyone who questions him or disagrees with him, openly saying laws don't apply to him, it sets a tone.
Low information people believe it and take it to heart. They stake their entire sense of self worth on him.

Are there a bunch of bad liberal Democrats in Minnesota? Sure. There's quite likely a lot of good decent people there too. Maybe even some good Democrats heaven forbid.
There's a bunch of criminals in government in a lot of places, I'll wager that Minnesota isn't the worst. But it is politically advantageous

The Official narrative machine has been turned up to 11, "Democrats all bad" with the help of the prostitutes in the press who do as they're masters tell them regardless of political party is in power.
"They're all, criminals, this is the problem with my life" to the point of Trump now considering declaring martial law which will raise the temperature even more

There are hundreds of videos if ICE blatantly ignoring the law and peoples rights. To think they're all virgins just doing their job is to be in a bubble of your own design. Many are NOT long time LE and have had little training. $50,000 signing bonus will get you that.
And yes there are some paid protestors and trouble makers. But there are also decent people protesting what they see as government overreach. Thats a right as a US citizen, well it used to be.

The whole thing has been choreographed IMHO and events unfolded that were then taken advantage of by both sides

^^^ THIS!
And it reminds me of this....

I recall in the mid 80's a Calif. Hwy Patrol trooper came to our county yard and conducted some driver safety training. He said something that I have never forgotten because in my mind, it made sense and seemed very logical....enough so that I cannot dispute it.

He said auto accidents are seldom the product of just one infraction or mistake. The number one collision type between vehicles in the roadway is a rear ender. People driving too closely, are going too fast for the conditions, possibly have near-bald tires and/or are not paying attention to the task at hand (texting, on phone, shaving, putting on makeup, etc.)

Most often it's when at least 2 from the above list come together....you can drive too closely if you are paying attention, but if your tires are bald you may not stop in time. Or even with new tires, you may not stop if the pavement is wet. Or possibly your tires are slick AND it's raining BUT....if you're not following too closely so you have time to brake to a safe stop...unless you're not paying attention.

In most cases, eliminate just ONE of the above and there's no collision. One can hope that not only are YOU following the above advice but the person BEHIND YOU is as well !

On this subject its has to be addressed properly, through letters and emails to senators and congressmen. Without that it does not go anywhere. Protest is an outdated format because it serves no one and can escalate to riots, and solves nothing. Protesting against police/law enforcement/military that are dispatched only makes you an enemy target. The lady who got shot was blocking the road and fallowed them everywhere around. They should had dispatched the local police traffic control issue them a ticket for being a road hazard and if they did not leave they should have been jailed for impeding justice.
