US Elections (& Politics) :)

What is your suggestion for training American workers and getting these industries online on American soil?

We need training for Americans on how to build cars, batteries?

He's talking up his book again. H1B visas dude

While you've been distracted, you might find that actual deportations arent exactly setting the world on fire.

We need to find out who enabled this. If it was Hyundai officials secretly smuggling in illegals then we need to dole out the punishments. And honestly, it's hard for me to imagine that some Koreans crossed the Mexican boarder and just happened that all get employed at a Korean factory. It's not like they were rounded up picking avocados in Kalifornia. No accountability just means the circus continues.

They knew the labor would be cheaper than hiring Americans unfortunately.

This is the big problem, as discussed over in the Money forum, with American labor costs vs foreign.

Even if we bring all the manufacturing back here (which will take years) it doesnt change that labor will be much higher and thus the price of finished goods.

Global Mail Disruption Deepens As U.S. Tariffs Trigger International Postal Shutdowns

International mail to the United States has plunged by more than 80% in one week after the Trump administration ended a long-abused tax exemption on small packages, prompting widespread suspensions of postal services around the world, according to the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

It's not hard to manage H1B if the dumbasses in control of the program know their ass from a hole in the ground. H1B should be granted for SPECIFIC skills needs and for up to 6 months. I hope the FBI does a good job of verifying how these Koreans entered the US, how they came about employment where they did, find out who their primary contacts were prior to coming to the US then leading up to their employment to also include who arranged for their housing startup needs. There should be a different H1B type of visa depending on the category of skills to be performed in the US. Sadly, we probably need a oversight department in the gubermint as much as I hate to admit that if we are to avoid abuse of the system. Something tells me this is just gonna be swept under the carpet because of high ups in the Korean gubermint are going to insist.

The Recent Dismal New Job Numbers Might Be a Sign of Trump’s Successes, Not Failures

As I write this, the Democratic press releases are still being edited, but the collective scream soon to come is perfectly predictable. Already, Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu said on BlueSky that “Republicans are messing up the economy,” based on private jobs data that came out Thursday.

You can see why Democrats might make that argument. It seems the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a meager job gain in August of 22,000, with technical revisions to recent months data in the negatives by 21,000. Even without that revision, that’s a job growth rate of a tenth what Joe Biden achieved in good months during his term.

But the screams, and the rocketing stock market hoping for a rate cut based on the numbers, miss the fact that this dismal employment picture might be a sign that Donald Trump’s policies are working as intended.

So far under Trump, federal government employment is down 97,000 jobs. It was down 15,000 jobs just in August and it is going to keep going down as those who have already been fired, but are still getting severances, still count as employed. State government employment in August was down 13,000 too, which may reflect cuts to state government grants. And those numbers come as parts of the federal government that Trump likes, such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement are on unprecedented hiring sprees.

The Trump administration also has cut tens of billions of dollars (maybe hundreds of billions) in nonprofit grants, on which the government spends a fortune. The BLS doesn’t report monthly numbers in the nonprofit sector, but you can expect that these cuts are having a big impact in the government-adjacent parts of the economy. One clue in the data is that “Religious, grant-making, civic, professional and similar organizations” ...

This government and system is a joke and needs to be fixed.

"New records reveal President Biden’s own administration raised concerns about autopen use to grant thousands of pardons. This is a historic scandal with massive repercussions," Comer told Fox News Digital in response to the Axios report.

"As President Biden declined, his aides carried out executive actions without his approval, casting doubt on the legitimacy of thousands of pardons and other executive actions."

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) includes undocumented immigrants in its labor force data, though it acknowledges some are missed. The data comes from the Current Population Survey (CPS), which is conducted by the Census Bureau. Plus all those USAID grifters who lost their jobs. Hooray! Let them pick the vegetables. LOL

Sadly, due to democrap policies we see this kind of thing. Not unusual to read a story about a US veteran who served in a war and came hold only be to killed by a democrap hero.

That is just it. Biden put 10's of thousands of people on the Federal Government payroll. Trump is letting go of at least that many if not more.
