US Elections (& Politics) :)

Not good.
Unless you just like Government snooping and deciding if your opinions deserve their scrutiny.

I’m sure it won’t be abused and it’s all ok

This is disturbing

You just heard Trump this week saying he's wanting to scale back ICE detentions of illegals and focus only on the hard criminals.
No Mass Deportations are going to happen. He Lied

So combined with a large mobile NG force for "civil unrest" what do you suppose these huge fucking warehouses are to be used for?

New DHS Detention Centers — Expansion, Plans, and Controversy

The Trump administration is moving ahead with a nationwide expansion of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention capacity, primarily through the purchase and retrofitting of large commercial warehouses into “mega” detention centers.

Scale and Strategy

ICE’s new model, part of the ICE Detention Reengineering Initiative, aims to consolidate hundreds of existing facilities into about 34 nationwide by 2026, increasing total bed capacity by roughly 30% Yahoo. The plan includes:

  • Eight “mega centers” like the one in Social Circle, Georgia (1 million sq. ft., 7,500–10,000 beds) CBS News+1.
  • 16 processing sites and 10 “turnkey” facilities.
  • A hub-and-spoke system where mega centers hold detainees for up to 60 days before deportation, with smaller processing sites handling shorter stays CBS News.
Funding comes from $38–38.3 billion allocated in the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act Yahoo+1.

Recent Examples

  • Social Circle, GA: DHS bought a former Russian-owned warehouse; city officials say they were not consulted before purchase. The facility is expected to open mid-2026 Yahoo+1.
  • Roxbury Township, NJ: DHS purchased a 470,000 sq. ft. warehouse in February 2026, but local officials say they were not contacted beforehand. The township opposes the site and may pursue legal action Yahoo+1.
  • Other sites: ICE has already spent hundreds of millions on warehouse purchases in states like Maryland, Arizona, and Texas, with some projects still in development Bloomberg
