I know it's a pretty broad question to ask, but does anyone have any suggestions for an ANPR camera in a residential area. It would help to have some real-world experience to compare.

I'm looking for something that can be set up as a stand-alone ANPR

In the $500 range these are great cameras that will actually read the plates and log them.

EmpireTech IPC-B74IR-Z4-AI 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP 8mm–32mm vari-focal IR ANPR

Expected delivery to the US in 2 weeks; expedited shipping is not supported. 4MP 1/1.8" CMOS Built-in IR LED, the max. illumination distance is 120 m Time-Division Exposure technology 2 intelligent functions can be enabled at the same time Deep learning algorithm Privacy Protection IP67 and IK10...

EmpireTech LPR413-Z3 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP Starlight+ 8mm–32mm Vari-Focal Du

4MP 1/1.8"CMOS License Plate Recognition Distance Distance up to 20 m (65.62 ft) Capture and Recognize License Plates from Vehicles Traveling up to 120 kph (75 mph) Starlight+ Technology, dual Illuminators Supports Intrusion and Loitering Detection Built-in Mic and Speaker Active Alarm with...

But many here run the Z12E that is $250ish.

The downside is this is set up for you to manually read the plates when you need to read them or use a 3rd party application to read them.

Some here use OpenALPR at like $10ish per month to do the actually reading of the plates and then a program someone wrote here to database log them.

Some here use Blue Iris as their VMS system and then use CodeProject ALPR or BI AI built-in to read and log plates and that is free.

EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2 1/2.8" CMOS 2MP 5mm–60mm Ultra Low Light

2MP 1/2.8" CMOS image sensor Built-in IR LED, the max. illumination distance is 150 m Deep learning algorithm Built-in MIC IP67 and IK10 protection SMD 3.0

Comes down to your system and which one you want to go with.

Unfortunately, the first 2 you list are "sold out" on Andy's site. I have three of the B52IR cams currently pulling LPR duty, but I am looking for a stand-alone ANPR setup where all info is captured by the camera and one can connect with a dedicated computer to view the info. I prefer not to have another computer running 24/7 and use 3rd party software to capture the information. Trying to keep setup and operation as simple as possible

DM Andy as he can probably get his hands on one.

I did, which is why I'm not crazy about the 700 nM range IR. For my purposes, it would have to have the 850 nM IR to be useful to me. It seems the LPR-431 EmpireTech LPR431-Z8 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP 10mm–50mm Vari-focal Starlight 4 is the only real choice, but that's close to $900. Out of my price range at the moment
