NVR32CH-2XI-PRO vs NVR32CH-AI-S2

Switching from another NVR platform to Dahua, I have an install of ~30 54IR and Color4M cams, and I want to have Wizseek features, I believe in this case the cameras can do most of the ai work, what would I be lacking by using the older S2? I know the 2XI uses a better model, and might have faster searches, but do limitations only come in to play when using non-acupic cameras? As long as all my cams are ai enabled both NVRs would work pretty similar other than slower search results?

Yes IMHO
Newer models have better AI search capabilities, and more incoming bandwidth generally

Being able to run two separate AI models one by camera and one by recorder might be handy (Face Detect and IVS, or adding VMD to a camera).. though limited # channels I think..

I've had my "new" nvr (EI2 with NEXT GUI - WizSense) for 7 months and still just use it for testing. Probably just laziness.
My old 4KS2E does what I need. I use SmartPSS Lite 99% of the time anyway.

With 30 cams vs my 12 I could see where Acupick could be handy

The NVR-S2 can only use WizSeek if the cameras have AcuPick. The NVR-XI/PRO can do AI by Recorder processing and WizSeek. There is a TPU processor inside of the XI/PRO.
See my thread on the XI/PRO:
