No Live View on PC

OK so i tried it, still failed. Looks like it's stuck with this or i upgrade the NVR if i wanna run a Colorvu camera.

Which version did you try to load... I would try it again with the firmware .dav file on a USB stick plugged directly into the NVR and start the firmware update on the NVR console GUI since you can't trust the browser GUI right now. Then see if you get the specific error "Device firmware mismatch"... or if you are lucky it will load that way.

As far, as upgrading the NVR goes, if you got the budget, it's a good idea... I upgraded from DS7616NI-I2/16P to DS7616NI-M2/16P and I am quite happy as the "I" series was not handling my Colorvu cameras too well... there are newer NVRs too with even more fancy features just to complicate purchase decisions :)

To really open a can of worms... If I was going to start over and upgrade everything (NVR and cameras) at the same time, I would probably switch to the Empire Tech Dahua brand NVR/cameras popular on this site and follow the advice of the experts here... not "chasing" MP, using varifocal cameras, etc.... could be a big learning curve though.

Make sure you use the script and install IE that way. Also, create a shortcut for the script link on the desktop to access IE if using a pc. Not sure what you can do if you only access it via an NVR. MS don't want you using IE anymore and in my experience will uninstall it during updates or block it by redirrecting you to Edge if you try to start it any other way. Edge compatability mode with IE is not the same as IE in my experience.

The real answer is camera manufacturers need to move away from IE based browsing. However, so far they've failed to do so, at least successfu;lly from what many have found. Whilst cameras display for most in other browsers, settings altered during visits to the cameras set up pages have a tendancy to not save or revert after exit when other browsers are used in many people's experience.

OK so I tried using .dav direct to the NVR and it's working, I just went to V4....and it's working, now looks like my parents menu!

Great work thanks fella's! Can you find that list of must have updates?

One issue I’ve just noticed, Hik-connect app is showing offline. I’ve checked and find the platform access setting is still enabled. The status on that screen says it’s offline also. I rebooted my router/modem, still offline.

EDIT: Sorted!

That's strange... you really should be able to go to the latest version? Did you try the very next version V4.60.005?

Does the live view on the browser GUI now work?
Yeah I did try but it wouldn’t allow me to select it. After V4 I did most via the web GUI and all worked well, that after the one before I ended up with the web GUI changed and the upgrade section was greyed out. So did the V4.6 plugged direct to NVR, but it wouldn’t accept any more updates.

Yes all live view works in the browser now.
