New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

The Reolink Wi-Fi Doorbell I purchased on eBay should arrive this week
I have the original v1
FWIW, both my V1's
It just arrived and it's version V2.

Hardware: DB_566128M5MP_W
Firmware: v3.0.0.4662_2503122270
Config Version: v3.0.0.0

I don't know exactly what was "refurbished" about it, because everything, including the accessories, was still in its original packaging/sealed, and there are no signs of wear on the casing. I think this eBay sale is more of a clearance sale of new stock, since there's already a "battery" model, and the other new doorbells were also mentioned/presented at this year's CES.

I think for €63.19 it was a pretty good buy. :) I won't know for sure until the doorbell is mounted outside, powered by a 24V doorbell transformer, and connected to my Wi-Fi. Everything works perfectly here at my desk, of course.

Currently, though, it's definitely too cold outside at -5 degrees Celsius to mount the doorbell.

Looks like you have good signal...

Main difference from version 1 to version 2 is they changed the frequency of the Chime. But now you can buy additional Chimes...

What frequencies? I had hoped when I bought mine I could pick it up with my 433mhz sdr, but I never did capture a ring.

I am looking to finally convert over from my Ring doorbell. Is there any reason to go with the Reolink in a 4:3 ratio over the 3:4? I don't know why the color dictates the ratio, but black v white is not an issue. I thought maybe the taller ratio would be more ideal given how narrow my front porch is.

I have other views/angles of the porch and door, so this would not be the sole coverage, and either would work. Currently the 4:3 is $94, and the 3:4 is $110, if that matters.

Current view from the Ring:

The white one (3:4) has about 35° more vertical field of view (H: 100°. V: 135°) than the black one so you may get more package view toward the botttom of your door...if so, I'd go with the white one. I see another cam straight across and up looking at your door and doorbell too.

That's this one. ;)

With the views I currently have I'm undecided on if the additional vertical FOV is worth $15, but I also see a lot of yard with the wider FOV.

I will be moving the doorbell to the trim next to the brick mold, for ease of running cabling, so that may show more siding unless I print a steeper wedge for it.

And after having said that, now I am leaning back towards the white one...

Yes, it looked to me like you were already seeing plenty of yard presently with the 2 54IR-AS's.....

If you don't mind Amazon returns, buy both and return one...if you have a POE Switch close to the door it will be easy to try them out. You do not need the App nor Internet to set them up.

Just beware, the Network Port settings like RTSP stream is defaulted to Off

But try this IP to see if you can get to it via a Browser:

192.168.0.3

Of course be sure your PC/Laptop is in the same subnet, ex. 192.168.0.2

If the above don't work download their Client:

Connect via UID or IP, again try 192.168.0.3:

Be sure and Factory Reset the one you return...

If you need any help, let us know...

Well, now the white isn't showing when I search, so that may answer the question for me.
I saw a few post earlier about the White not available. I just looked myself, even ReoLink shows this:

I saw that, too, but literally saw a listing on Amazon with the option of white or black. I clicked back on it, and now it's only the black one.

One thing with Amazon, keep checking it, I have seen items come back available before.

I just bought another switch and after ordering I refreshed the screen the next day and it went down in price $20 so I put in an order to cancel it and reordered the switch at the lower price. Noticed when stock is low prices change alot on Amazon...

How is everyone using this as a Ring replacement with BI? It just dawned on me that my camera network that this would be plugged into doesn't touch the internet, so the Reolink app won't work...
