Mount for T54IR-ZE-S3

Welcome to MY world, man......

My dad passed in 2011 just 3 days before his 90th birthday, a WWII vet of "The Greatest Generation". He would do crossword puzzles and word search type games in later years often, said it helped keep his mind sharp....and he WAS sharp as a tack.

I retired in '04 at 55 after 31 years of traffic signal work but started a PC repair business a year later because I became so bored with no daily challenges, goals or obligations. I dissolved the LLC 8 years and 320 customers later but still moonlight a bit these days repairing PC's and setting up networks, IP cameras, etc. for certain people and companies if they can pay me under the table, not so much for the money but to challenge me....like my dad, it's my "crossword puzzles".

The chemo treatments last year really set me back a bit, physically as well as mentally. I can personally attest that "chemo brain" is a real thing. Even THIS post that would have taken me 5 minutes or so prior to February 2025 took me probably 2 or 3 times longer. But I am going to "keep on keepin' on".....one cannot succeed if you don't try.

I'm pretty sure the good Lord didn't bring me this far so I could just up and quit.

My problem is and has always kinda been, I get distracted by trying to do several projects at once. This Camera project I have strung over several days, actually about a week. My wife likes to move my things if they sit too long when she cleans. Though I can't blame her for this one, it was my screwup this time

I have my list and my wife's honey-do-list plus things pop up, like we just noticed our water is yellow (light brown?) last night, so Stop All Projects, add a call to the Water company, me going this morning out to monitor our water meter, hopefully no breaks, we have had three main pipe repairs already in the 3 years since we've been here. Funny but the wife accused me of not flushing the toilet last night, how dare her, haha

My jumping the gun statement is due to me getting frustrated and trying to find a quicker solution. All I could think about is I bought the wrong Mounts, PFA130-E and PFB203W but then things did not make sense, I could not get the camera to lock, weird set screw.

Since this Forum is my Go-To for Cameras and other things I figured I would prematurely post, lol

It's a really REALLY good thing I was never a cop...I'd be in the Chief's office or on adminstrative leave more than I would be on duty...I'd probably shoot someone or their tires for throwing their empty McDonald's litter out the car window or putting empty Walmart plasic bags in their truck bed.....

UPDATE: After reaching out to Andy, he provided me with an instructional video for mounting the T54IR. When I saw the mounting piece in the video, the piece I did not have, ding, ding, ding, why did my Camera not come with that piece that has the Tab that I saw here, thanks to @bigredfish and online in pictures of the T541R?

Here is where the Senior Moment comes in, sure enough there was a separate box that the missing piece to my puzzle came in, I apparently set it aside in another room when I first unboxed the Camera. Kinda wished they would of attached it to the Camera, not sure why it is separate and in its own box. but the box does keep the camera from moving around, which now makes sense. Anyway, how stupid of me, I was focused on setting this Camera up before install, change IP and video settings, etc. then starting playing with the Mount. Totally forgot I set aside a box from the Camera box.

Sure enough, I jumped the gun...probably why I am not a Cop ...and you would think being Semi-retired, in my 60s, slowing down in life, that I would of gotten better... Now I am just misplacing more things, haha...

Yep. Usually it is people complaining the torque tool wasn't included because they didn't completely empty out the box LOL.

Got 'er installed. Note to self, remove Wasp first...I prayed every second on this install, they we buzzing all around me, even a few ran into me. Since Water company said it is time to flush their lines I was able to get back to the Camera install.

Couldn't get the cable any lower, it is around 9 to 9 1/2 feet so not bad. I love that mount, cables tucked in nicely in the mount. The Cam cover our front area which is a big area.

I do plan to have a second CAM for the front, mainly cover the Drive/Entrance...

To give a little more perspective of the area, this is one of two 24 Ton Belly Dumps we had done when we added more Slag rock to our drive...also had three 12 Ton Dump Trucks too, 84 Tons total and only 3 inches added surface rock (Slang) for our whole front drive...next time we will do our back turnaround...guessing two more Dump Trucks for that...



Note: The Set Security Screw on this Cam is a Philips, think I will be looking to replace them with a security screw.

I'm curious to see how the camera illuminates that area in a nighttime photo. I'm afraid you'll have to give it a little help with an IR floodlight.

I wouldn't be concerned. Looks like a perfect scene for one or more Tendelux D10s or D20s, if needed.

So, of course the Camera's IR only goes so far. I already have plans for another camera on the detached garage but it was suppose to focus more on the entrance drive so looks like I will have a third front camera in the middle too.

I have not had time yet to play/adjust the shutter speed and IR settings so the is IR set to Auto presently:




So you can quickly tell this is way too bright, facial washout is definite at this setting. But will say that tree in our turnaround is about 60 feet or more away, guessing, if you look at our side walk to the driveway, our house is about 50 feet wide, The concrete driveway is where our detached garage is and add a 7 foot walkway in-between.

Out here we are animal watchers, not people watchers like when we lived in the city. We have only had two solicitors in the 3 years we have lived here, one was a tree service and the other was Jehovah Witnesses...

But good IR coverage is also needed for animal watching, most animals here are nocturnal so we have alot of activity at night. We like it dark so IR blasters are not out of the question...

Thanks, have not tried it yet. Here it is pitch black dark, kinda scary walking around on the grass at night. The other night I tried walking to the garage in the dark and stepped on a huge frog, about had a heart attack, haha. I did go out and peaked around the corner to look at the two IR LEDs, they are brighter out here...hard to hide a camera out here in the dark...

Can definitely see the IR from the new CAM on the Doorbell CAM

Consider a 5442 on either end and a mini-PTZ in the middle.
The 5442s double as spotter cams for the PTZ and extend your range

Not out yet. Should be here in time for Christmas. They have to add some more PRO letters to the model number.
