It used to be rock solid, then they started this crap by removing old versions so if you didnt upgrade your support you couldnt find the old version. Its just f@ked.

Anyway, I thought i'd be smart and update to the latest version. Boy was that a stupid idea.

Nothing works now. I can connect locally using a browser, and connect locally using the app. Remote connection works for both also but it just SITS there loading.... any camera, doesnt matter.

Does anyone have any idea? Having the same issue on my neighbors PC. Its absolutely NOT related to my config, because it worked perfectly for years before. So something in this new version has broken. I note my alerts are showing 99999 via the app, which is hilarious given there is like 50 on the server

Any help would be great, before I send BI hate mail

Cheers

Have you tried rolling back to a previous version? As in one of these below, found in the Wiki?

I find 5.9.9.73 to be stable.

You downloaded his “stable” build which is 5.9.9.73? If you installed his latest available, those are betas and are not stable. Those are akin to nightly builds. He is in the process of pushing out ver 6 so there has been a ton of work the last month with new builds.

If you're addressing me and not the OP, the answer is "yes", I've used 5.9.9.73 since early Sept. and no issues, not sure what version the OP is having problems with, he doesn't say except "latest version."

FWIW, I use no AI such as Code Project or others.

Using 5.9.9.99, I just downloaded the 'full version' from their website. I was not given an option to download a particular version, but BI is set to updates 'off'

I dont use any AI stuff

CPU usage is very high also, 25% on an AMD EYPC 7452 (32 cores, 64Ts) with Intel ARC A310 GPU and substreams - 8 x cameras, mix of 2.1 and 4MP

Didnt realise IP camtalk has the versions for download - brilliant. I had a go at BI for removing old versions, forcing people to update their license if expired when they rebuild their PC and cant find the old version. Dodgy practices.

Thanks TonyR, will do that now.

Boom, .73 works.

Thanks guys! How is it when you hit download full version, that dodgy 5.9.9.99 is the version it sends you to. Its 100% broken

If you upgrade from within BI itself, it usually gives you the choice - stay on your current version, update to the latest stable version XXXXX build, or install the latest build version yyyy which may is beta and maybe unstable. So done from within BI, you should have the choice. Also on the stable versions, there's normally a drop down box to enable you to choose a previous stable version. For this reason, I'd advise upgrading from within BI the upater section is working.

It's good you don't have CPAI on, as the 2 can conflict when versions are changed although the latest stable versions of both went on my pc without conflict or issue.
