It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Did you try Low sensitivity?
I kept mine at Medium only
Too many false alerts - the AI Ports eliminated them as I relied exclusively on the AI Ports only not ONVIF on UniFi Protect

Those thumbnails sure are nice in Protect.
Dahua's newest AI NVRs are about the same in respect to thumbnail layout EXCEPT for the fancy animations in UniFi Protect

Been thinking giving Fregata — Native NVR for Apple Silicon a spin
Blue Iris has been virtually issue-free for me though
The Home Assistant integration option is nice
Looks interesting. Hoping someone can test out this project and report back. Almost done building out my UniFi network here otherwise I’d give it a shot.

Me too, this sounds promising.

Don’t waste your money on the G2 NVRs
Buy an AI Port

Its pretty impressive what the AI Port can do without any business on the camera itself

I wonder if there is any tangible difference when it comes to performance and load times on the G2 NVRs given the fact that they have 4 times the RAM as the UNVR and 256SSD cache. It gets prohibitively expensive when you add additional AI Ports and opt for the G2 NVR. Presently, I only use 2 AI Ports, 1x for Legacy UniFi Cameras, and 1x for the dedicated LPR

As a test, I adopted 12 of my 54IRs this afternoon. It's strange that some show up as HD and others as 2K.

It does seem wonky in the way it works. For me.... Using the same group of cameras, previously it said I had 6 x 2K cameras and 5 x 4K cameras. I looked at Protect today and it says 6 x 2K and 6 x 4K. Going through my list of cameras it seems it now has started classifying one of my 4MP cameras as 4K.

  • ONVIF:
    • 4K: 1 camera
    • 2K: Up to 2 cameras
    • HD: Up to 3 cameras
  • Protect:
    • 4K: Up to 2 cameras
    • 2K: Up to 3 cameras
    • HD: Up to 5 cameras
Info here:
I believe you can get 2 cameras at 4MP (2560 × 1440), but someone should fact check me
Yeah.... for 2K it is for resolutions up to "1440". I have a couple that were "1520" and it classified it as 4K so I had to log into the camera and lower the resolution. Then remove the camera from Protect and re-adopt it.
