"The USAF bombed the Iraqi Army. Not the PMF -- the Iraqi army. It's officially a world war."

PMF ?

World War ? .. that's a very loose definition of World War.

Iraq loaded with Shiites - anyone with a clue knew there would be knock on effects / ripple effects hitting the Mullahs

As to 'Wold War" what is the definition?
When was WW2 "Officially" a World War?

You have 4 nuclear powers involved right now, and 3 of them have seen direct military action in the past 4-5 days. China is being restrained but has indicated it may not be much longer.

We're in a situation where some dozen or more countries are actively shooting, and another dozen on the edge.

So Monday its just an "excursion" and by Friday it might be "Officially" a World War and we're waiting for what specific trigger to give it that designation?

Its a dangerous game and the armchair war experts won't acknowledge its bad until a nuke is dropped? Is that the dividing line? :idk:

Cold World War vs ( Kinetic ) World War ..

I could argue with similar logic that Russo-Ukraine had involved numerous nuclear powers ( Russia, USA, UK, France, China, Korea ) ..

So why would that not be world war ?
then we add Syria to the conflict mix, why not yet world war ?
then we add Hamas / Hezbollah / Houthis / Iran vs Israel to the mix, why not yet world war ?
then add Pakistan vs Taliban, why not yet world war ?

oh .. and what about Thailand vs Cambodia .. Venezuela ?

The question .. when is it world war ? vs a bunch of separate but somehow linked wars ?

Yup, at lot of hyperbole and gaslighting going on from those NOT in the know about anything. Just working so hard to harvest nonsense and post it here; probably a good chunk of their day. LOL.

With regard to those in the know (officials}, one could claim they are doing the same thing, however, I believe a lot of levers are being pulled and buttons pushed to get the desired effect. Does anyone really expect Trump to answer or say things as to what is exactly going on? Poker much is what I'd ask them. Only stupid people show their full hand. That's a recipe for losing. And with regard to "journalist" asking questions that should not be answered directly you can clearly see "ask a dumb question, get a dumb answer". Hilarious to see people getting bent into a pretzel over Trump responses. Keep everyone guessing and use the "journalists" as a tool. The enemy is always watching what's put out there including monitoring the pulse is Americans.

Former head of MI6: Iran has the “upper hand” in the war | The Economist

The Economist

Sir Alex Younger spent 30 years at MI6, Britain’s foreign intelligence service, with six of those as its boss. He joins the Economist’s defence editor, Shashank Joshi, to analyse the current state of the conflict, the health of Iran's regime and what could happen next.

AI summary :

In this video, Sir Alex Younger, former head of MI6, analyzes the current state of the conflict between Iran and the United States. He argues that Iran has gained the upper hand due to the resilience of its regime and strategic decisions, despite intense external pressure.

Key takeaways from the discussion:

  • Iranian Resilience: Iran has successfully dispersed its military capabilities and delegated authority for weapon use, making it harder for the US air campaign to be effective (1:23-1:38). Furthermore, Iran has utilized horizontal escalation, firing rockets at anyone within range, which has effectively raised the cost of the conflict for the US (1:41-1:56).
  • Energy War Threats: Even with only 10% of their initial drone stocks, Iran can still credibly threaten oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, giving them significant leverage (3:08-3:45).
  • Regime Survival vs. Popular Support: While 80% of Iranians may oppose the theocratic regime, the remaining 10-20%—who hold the weapons—remain decisive in maintaining control (5:20-5:55). However, Younger suggests the regime is in its "death throes" and that peace, rather than war, might ultimately be the biggest threat to its survival (4:24-4:32).
  • IRGC Takeover: The conflict has accelerated a shift where the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has effectively taken over, moving from a theocracy toward a military junta (6:57-7:17). These new leaders are pragmatic and corrupt, heavily invested in the black economy created by sanctions (7:50-8:13).
