So CVS (owned by Aetna but that’s a different grift) defrauds the .gov for 10 years and ordered to pay it back, but nobody goes to jail?
6 years ago I broke leg in Portugal.
Without any insurance here, I paid in private nice hospital something like 300 Euro (like 350 USD) for everything - with X-ray and leg cast.
there were some rehabilitation after, it was something like 50-100 euro per visit
and those prices are similar in many countries in Europe...
if you have insurance things like this can be free in public hospitals (but you must wait more and quality can be lower)..
Tip of the iceberg
Just found out that after Jan 30 due to the Republican Congress, Medicare will no longer pay for Telehealth visits.
Due to sever hyperthyroidism I see an Endo doc 4-6X per year.
Essentially she reads my blood labs.
I’ve learned how to do that but go through the motions because it’s an easy 10minute video call. (She’s 1.5 hrs away)
No more.
Now have to do a regular in person visit, next appt? April 7th
We’re all going to see less service, higher prices. I feel sorry for those with private insurance and/or employer shared insurance. And of course the 22 million on ACA are truly fucked
Thanks Republicans!
Even if none of the waste, corruption, etc. didn't exist, I think it's still in a death spiral. People are being kept alive longer thanks to all of the new technology. Many of these people need more and continuous expensive treatments, drugs, and care by healthcare workers. On a long enough timeline (shameless stealing from zerohedge) the entire GDP and output of the labor force will be dedicated to healthcare. Why Healthcare Is In A Death Spiral: Follow The Money
I’m not clear on how much comes out of your paycheck? For health
