Not sure why the guy did not try a Band Saw. They are my go to, they work great. Never used a battery operated one though...When cutting nonferrous soft metals like aluminum, a blade with larger teeth does a better job. Small teeth load up with aluminum and bind. The blade becomes less effective the longer it is used.

In theory, the band saw should cut faster as every movement of the blade is in the cutting direction. A reciprocating saw is only cutting half of the time, the other is getting back to the cutting direction of the bladeNot sure why the guy did not try a Band Saw. They are my go to, they work great. Never used a battery operated one though...
