When cutting nonferrous soft metals like aluminum, a blade with larger teeth does a better job. Small teeth load up with aluminum and bind. The blade becomes less effective the longer it is used.

Not sure why the guy did not try a Band Saw. They are my go to, they work great. Never used a battery operated one though...

In theory, the band saw should cut faster as every movement of the blade is in the cutting direction. A reciprocating saw is only cutting half of the time, the other is getting back to the cutting direction of the blade
