EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

If you are upset with the "crazy" price hike, you can still get a very similar camera with the Omnivision sensor 1/1.8" 4mp FIXED Lens Turret for $175 from Luminys and is NDAA compliant
Thus, if you need a few overview cameras 2.8mm focal length, this is a very relevant model and comes with a 7 year warranty, more than what anybody really needs

If it did IR then it would be an excellent 1:1 replacement.

Hmm...I'm confused here: if this model touts the white LEDs, in what sense does it support IR? I saw the IR filter mentioned, so presumably it would need some external IR illuminator, right?
Does it have the same IVS capabilities as the 5442? Made by Dahua?

Blur baby blur
I can understand why things need to be blurred in an ever-increasing sensitive society and Karen approves this, but the NSA still has all the power to unblur the blurry parts to see all the private parts

Technically it is a Dahua camera - but not rebadged
These Lumi cameras are assembled in Vietnam, not China
Lumi brand is spin-off from Dahua to meet NDAA in the USA
but the quality is not there? specs look ok dont they?

We need someone here to be guinea pig and test out a Luminys camera for us all to add to list of future options should the need arise lol

Unfortunately, there are some corners being shaved such as no IR when there should be IR present
Someone confirmed earlier that the Omnivision sensor is still present onboard though
