EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

The 5442s are proven and have been the forum favorite for years

The two newish series, 54PRO and 3 Series TIOC PRO have been shown to have worse moving image quality.

The -IL series is thus far untested. There are no reasonable good test comparisons that I’ve seen here.
It’s hard to imagine that the cheapest camera series of the bunch has magically been made to outperform the others.

If however static images and “brightness” are your main requirements, any of those will be better for you than the 5442 series.

I can't say there's much that interests me in the current CCTV camera lineups atm anyway. The 5442 was the one good go to. Until Manufacturers ditch AI or at least realise it's a tweaking tool & nothing more, then I don't see me buying any cameras in the near future, failure needs aside. The market still needs the option of high data rates given cheap storage (back soon hopefully with the memory crash), optional low / low destructive compression settings, back to front sharpness & zoom that doesn't collapse the whole picture due to compression tricks such as restricting higher data rates to the central portion or interpollating the non central part, and large sensors to give native low light low noise performance. Until then, I see little reason to upgrade, emergency needs apart.

Just announced by many YT'ers a plummet in DDR Prices:

US war on Iran make all things plummet, sure only oil up a lot. The DDR company Helix and Sumsung up 13% today. My news is different than what you see on the youtube guys. Factory purchasing price is going much higher in April. Just watch Micron stock if really plmmet or not. Market always like to scare the people away and buy something cheaper. Anyway, i hate the DDR price increase and hopeful they can be stable.

Never thought we would be experiencing price gouging outside the norms of gas stations and toilet paper

Gotta' get used to the new inflated prices for a few years before they are considered normal prices - so yes, the return to normal prices will come, but not soon enough, and will be dollar for dollar or rather, replaced by the Yuan - therefore $230 for the 5442 is normal pricing y'all (Arjun from the future) ;)
