Hi,
Dahua put new website (awful)...

But there are new announcements and one of them specify 31-03-2026 (end of March - so 20 days to go) is EOF (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 series cameras....

As a replacement is specified 5459-IL (Dual Light model, not PRO model which Andy have in stock)...

Similar info is for SD5A - GA/GB-HNR PTZ series (01-07-2026)...

@EMPIRETECANDY can you comment something more on this? Do you plan to have 5459-IL series on stock?

How close do the 5459-IL models come to the s3 cameras? I haven't seen any real videos from the new cameras yet.

I strongly suspect (based on differences in specifications) that the 5x59-IL models are based on OmniVision sensors (the same as in the 5442-S3, or newer generations) and not Smart Sense sense (like TIOC-PRO / 5x59-PRO and HIK ColorVu cams).

they have from beginning disabled WizColor / AI-ISP functionality (on the same SOC and firmware).

But I've never had the opportunity to physically confirm this.

I hope you are right. Thank you for this news.

edit: I must have misread the posts. Will be back when I can better focus myself.

I will happily take one 1x 5459-IL for testing. In my opinion and experience, the Omnivison sensors are way to go. Its too bad we don't go with Sony anymore, but it is understandable.

OK i will arrange one to check. But pure IR camera the 5442 is the king. I will make it go on selling the 2026.
The plan is make all cams to be dual illumination, will be hard for some of our customers who don't want any led.

Dual illumination is fine, provided we have the option to disable LED completely and use IR purely (having both options is fine in one foam factor as long as it does not compromise performance, sensor selection, and hardware quality)

I asked them before, they said same chips as 54PRO, just add blue and red light.
The 5442 cams i think the DDR crisis push these cams at a bad situation, not enough ddr for the cameras.

Now the market is totally going crazy, all NVRs 5 series increased 50usd yesterday. 4K cameras increased 40usd per one. And all factories have crazy pressure for the price increase. There has 2 times price increase now from Feb to March.
The XVR i have a client bought some, price increase 200usd, now higher than the pure NVR Pro version.

The resale value of a gently used 5442 is going to go up bonkers, lol
Who in the right mind would want to resell their 5442 at this time (even the first generation model)?

When the global situation stabilizes (hopefully at some point), I am going to make a trip to China and put together my own IP camera if the newer Dahua models don't include the Omnivision / Sony sensors

Just like this guy...

joking
I don't have the luxury of time :lmao:
