The pacific northwest is experiencing global warming while all of you to the east are freezing your bottoms off with the coming ice age. We usually hit the season low of -20F in December. This is east of the Cascade mountains. Here are a couple of guys going at it a few years ago:
Very interesting. Our bucks in southern Michigan are much more stout compared to what I am seeing in your pictures. Also the antler development that we see here is much more stout and stubby. A buck with antler length comparable to what you have shared with us would have many more points here.
In the area of Texas we live in, Whitetail are everywhere. But we also have Mule, Axis, Sika and even Blacktail...Mule Deer can be pretty stout but most of our deer are much smaller than our neighbors to the North. The joke has always been our deer are the size of dogs...

Do you scale them for weight? How many pounds is each of the two you got?

Reminded me of a friend in my youth that got a 90 pound doe. He almost weighed the same as the deer
I get up early, normally 5, but was up 3:45 this morning...anyway, got to searching like I do most mornings...

I don’t have any type of scale that I can weigh them on. The button buck I dressed in the field. After that he wasn’t that difficult to pick up by the legs, load up , and haul back to the barn. After field dressing, I want to say he was maybe 80lbs?
The bigger doe was more challenging. I decided to bring her back for dressing. It was a challenge but doable by myself. I want to say she was maybe 120lbs or so undressed.
Hard to say, just my guesstimates.
That doggo is a savage!!!
My boo is a killer but she mostly brings back possums and coons. I had to rescue her from a doe attack a couple years back.

There’s no helping them. Michigan deer are born with serious issues.
