Ok, gotta confess, we are now sleeping with our windows open due to the great cool weather at night, I have had dreams of Deer jumping in my bedroom window, hahaha...
Bro in Law got him one in archery season. His nephew helped drive him, good kid.
I say kid, it’s been a few years (12) since he drove my first 10 point and cinnamon bear right to me. Followed in the footsteps of his Uncle, both State Troopers
Yesterday, was waiting on the wife grocery shopping and noticed a guy with his boys, teenagers standing in front of Harbor Freight all camoed, I was waiting awhile and finally ended up going up to them and asked if they needed help, it was as if they were waiting for a ride or something, well sure enough they were, their truck broke down back at a hotel they were staying at and he had jack stands and some tools in his shopping cart. They got an Uber to drive there but said he was having a hard time getting one back, so I helped them get back to their hotel where his elderly father was waiting for them at. The story was they were in town from El Paso to hunt with his boys who have never went hunting before and their tranny on the truck is slipping, he seemed to know what he needed to do to fix it in the hotel parking lot, he said they gave him permission to do whatever he needed, which is great, it was a Red Roof Inn, or Plus+, guess that is what they call them now, so nothin fancy...
He said they were there till Sunday, hope the boys tag one...it is an experience like no other for kids...
Funny, was watching her on the CAM and we have our windows open, I would make a noise and she would lift her head from eating, looking right at the CAM, did this several times until she just ignored me...
Yeah, sadly, this time of year the cold draws them to the roads, on our 45 minute journey into a near by city I saw 3 going and 2 coming back, deer on the side of the road that had been hit. Well one was in pieces in the middle of the road. We have alot of 18 wheelers on that stretch of the highway...but did see part of a front bumper and car pieces by one on the side of the road...
Been told they are drawn to the roads since the roads are warmer...sounds right I guess...
