Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

WizColor PT2 cams..

from one side they are toys (no zoom, only auto tracking lite)..

From second - they have full WizColor technology plus 1/1.8" image sensor...
plus some new tech to capture car plates (probably using HDR and changeable exposure) in difficult lighting conditions...

This Dahua camera is similar to the Hikvision 4 MP ColorVu Mini PT Dome Network Camera. Both cameras got no optical zoom but with 1/1.8 image sensor from few years ago. I thought about buying it but no optical zoom at all is a deal breaker for me.

Another internal Dahua presentation and another sets of new stuff..

WizColor 5x59-PRO is not released yet (firmware delays) but now Dahua plans also 7 series 7x59...
Plus batch of new PTZ (new series -MA & -MB, which will replace actual ones -GA / -GB)..

it looks like all cams from medium/higher lines will be HybridLED (IR + white)..
No more IR only (WizMind-S/WizMind-X) or white only (all FullColor line) lines..

there is info about MAIN difference between TIOC-PRO and new WizColor 5x59-PRO.

First one supports only one function: AI-ISP or Large Scale AI Models (better IVS, which will be offered as firmware upgrade) - not both at once..
WizColor 5x59-PRO will support both at once. It have better / more powerful SOC, which allows to run more AI...

It will be interesting to see what the optics look like. They are obviously, like the whole tech world, focused on AI. But the 3449 Pro compared to the S3 5442 showed me that image quality (IQ) was not the primary goal

TIOC-PRO are using very brutal full scene dynamic HDR / Color LUT and 3D noise reduction to brighten/color up video scenes to full day levels. This process works very well for static (or almost static) images, but It crashes on moving objects. The AI-ISP tries to "figure out" what the sensor is actually seeing and what is noise - but this can create a lot new type of artifacts. AI-ISP technology for dynamic objects doesn't reach the level of processing done for static parts of the image.

The 5442 is very conservative here. It doesn't use any super advanced processing and instead shows more of what the sensor sees.

I hope that on 5459-PRO we will see more advanced version of AI-ISP video processing.
AI-ISP, looking at what sports cameras with 48 Mpx sensors (12x more pixels than our 4Mpx) in 1/1.3" size do at night, has great potential for improvement.

Second part are image sensors - 5442/7442 are using better OmniVision sensors (4/8 Mpx, 140db WDR). There are new series released last year, which Dahua didn't used for now.
TIOC-PRO / WizColor / Color-Vu cams are using cheaper SmartSens image sensors (4/6/8 Mpx, 120db WDR) with totally different noise characteristics..

We don't know what sensors will be used in 5x59.. But looking at fact that line will be in 4/6/8 Mpx, for 99% they will use SmartSens sensors..

I wrote post about new sensors here:
