Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

That’s odd as my new TIOC is significantly better than my 5442 (s3 variant) at low light. This seems to be worse and makes this whole new lineup worthless to me.

5442-s3 is almost 3 years old product... it used previous generation of video processing, older image sensors & older SOC (processor).
it received a lot of new functionality by firmware upgrades, but they can't change that it is older hardware.

TIOC-PRO is a new product, which is show case for new generation of Dahua video processing technology (WizColor).

it incorporate latest generation of image sensors & SOC (from 2024) with much modern video processing (new AI noise reduction, always on high dynamic range (HDR) & color grading technology) copied from latest generation of mobile phones and sport cameras / drones..

The new WizColor 5xx9-PRO will be mixture of old WizMind-S 5442 and FullColor 5449 cams with new WizColor AI technology and hardware.

in Q1 2026 there should be next upgrade to WizMind-S 5442 & 5842, after full 3 years cycle...

Just get the sample and make some fast testing, here are some pics for indoor, for outdoor testing we will do next week.
The 5442 have stronger IR. 5449 a little weaker, because of the 5449 have 2 white LED and 2 IR. Daytime pic the 5449 one is bit good. We will have more details review nexxt week for day and night pics compare.

Later when i get more samples i will send more guys here for playing. :)

turret 5442 also have only 2 IRs...
so they should be similar...
pictures you sent me by DM shows that IR light is more uniform on 5449...

Dahua has saved money here again. Should throw in 4 hybrid LEDs, 2 with near optics and 2 with far optics.

Or do like HIK in the latest DeepInMind 2.0 cameras, where 4 LEDs are mounted horizontally (invisible to outside) and are reflected by rounded silver mirror which gives a very unified and strong light vertically and horizontally (like in small GU10 bulbs).

Right, you’re proving my point? In Andy’s original post, before he edited it, he called out that the lowlight performance was better on the 5442 than this newer camera. Hence my disappointment that this “almost 3 year old product” is outperforming this brand new one.

Like Andy called out, there’s still tweaking required, and this isn’t 100% finalized, but the very initial impression was disappointing. Hopefully they do improve things there to make this a compelling upgrade.

OK, I didn't saw original post before editing..

Andy sent me by DM some office pictures comparison at night - but those were showing worse IR LED's on a new camera...

we waiting for more test...

ps. we don't know in what state is firmware for those camera beta samples (they are not final version).
In TIOC-PRO we waited about 3 months from hardware availability to final firmware with AI-ISP video image processing enabled..

especially that now when I look one more time on those pics from Andy, I don't see any signs of new WizColor AI video processing on those comparison pics..
5449 picture should be much sharper and have visible strong gamma manipulation due HDR effect on darker elements (like leaves of plant)..

Thanks for the updates @EMPIRETECANDY and showing us some real-world examples.
Looking forward to (at least) a 3-way shootout ... new versus 5442 and 4K.
For the nighttime shots, would love to see some example with no IR.

Same exposure (i.e. shutter speed and gain and max aperture) will quickly tell the story how much better the lens/sensor/processing is in low-light.
