No, there aren't any videos of people.Wait, has no one really tested the IL yet?
and andy doesnt have access to gettin one for testing?
yea, someone def needed to change that. No, there aren't any videos of people.
I think someone on the forum bought one from a seller for €300. I think it was steve1225.yea, someone def needed to change that.

It has been tested (see the thread linked above this one), but some here aren't satisfied with the tests and are too lazy to do their own, opting rather to have a pity-party and trash-talk cameras they haven't tested based on inferior cameras they have tested. Doesn't really matter too much if the IL series cameras aren't widely available though...Wait, has no one really tested the IL yet?
I thought Andy had ordered two of those models for himself to test.

I'm wondering if Dahua has decided to keep replacement models away from IPCT after the last new releases. Maybe they don't want us bagging on them again?![]()
A few criticisms to respond to:
-cropped digitally zoomed images - What the heck is wrong with that? Would you rather see the full frame with what you want to identify as 5% or less of the area?
-default settings - Post #4 discloses some non-default daytime settings, and 0-4ms nighttime shutter. I did get past the issue of the IL resetting its exposure to auto.
-issues between BI and the camera IVS - If I said that somewhere I must have been smokin' something good. I've never had any issues with IVS on BI. Incidentally, all of the posted images were from smartPSS snapshots.
-Really doesn’t tell us much with regard to moving target image quality with more appropriate setting and lens choice - In my naivety, I can't see why the frame-by-frame sequence in post #11 doesn't show moving target image quality. When I have a tough time with identification, I go to still frames, not moving video.
I'll admit I'm too lazy to post video. When the going gets tough for identification I always go to still frames. But on the lazy aspect, why the heck hasn't anybody else bought an -IL to test, instead of bitching there haven't been any tests? A sample of one doesn't give high confidence results, but it's the only one you've got right now. It's correct that I didn't do a formal review, but I've spent many hours TESTING the -IL over 3-1/2 months. Unless some new firmware improves things, it has all been a waste of time for me, but I still continue on.
I could buy one, but there's no way I'm paying 400–600 for a camera like that. Max 200.From your own words opening sentence: I was trying to be nice. I specifically said you were testing animal detection only.
It is not a review. Most of you focus on image quality, while my priorities are reliable animal detection and reduced false triggers. Within reason, image quality is priority #3.
Reading your test gave me no clue as to settings. The 0-4 was on one camera the other at default. No direct comparison and only a few setting mentions.
Image: Defaults, except for night on the S3 with brightness=60 and gamma=71, for a better overall match to the IL's night image.
Exposure: Daytime auto, night 0-4ms, except the IL likes to keep changing it by itself to auto, so I really don't know what it was for the previous pictures.
FPS: 10
Bitrate: 8192, H264
Digital zoom by nature distorts and creates pixelation.
It’s fine if you just want to know if it’s a fox or a moose but it’s a horrible measure of image quality.
I’ve been asking for one for 2-3 months. They’re not available!
