As I have stated many times, for surveillance cameras, most of us here want the ability to obtain a freeze frame clean capture of a perp in motion, not nice bright static images.
I wouldn't use these cameras to take pics for the county fair competition LOL as there are other cameras designed for that purpose.
This camera does make nice bright static images though....
Probably unrealistic but I'd like to see that. A picture can never be too good. It can be too bad though.
The better and clearer the image, the more chance there is of LE capturing the perp. We've had instances where I work of the Police refusing to take footage because they didn't think they'd get a conviction from the quality of the shot as the perp could just say, well they look similar but it isn't me. Without that extra quality, they wouldn't risk all the time and paperwork to take it to Court for the perp to be able to get off by simply being able to claim it isn't them even though it looks a bit like them. Only a super clear definitive image can prove it is someone and the caeras we have don't always capture that.
A good example is Looneys still picture from above. Head down on the 2nd photo without good focus, he could claim it's someone similar and no-one could prove otherwise and that's not even a comparitively bad focus / picture compared to some. We only know it's him because he posted it and we know him. It's not a good recognition shot though.
