Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Best practice is to factory reset a device before a firmware update and factory reset after the update.

And folks that get under the hood have seen a firmware update not completely take until a couple of factory resets.

So many of us adopted 3 factory resets before and after the firmware update.
The problem is that after factory reset the camera going to have the default IP that will not be reachable if you are using subnet other than 192.168.1.* :(

I'd be interested in seeing a video at night with Self Adapative, AI-SSA, AND AI-ISP all on and no changes to default settings....
I've been fine with the video at night. I did notice that the 11/27 firmware made the video slightly darker. I've never posted video due to privacy concerns so I'm not ignoring you. I might send 1:1, will see. First will figure out this problem, but certainly thank you for all of the time that you've invested in this camera testing and posting in all the threads.

Yes, that's why I've never done a full reset. And I've never had a problem in all of the years that I've been updating, until this one time. It's both the IP address and all the IVS settings that I would need to recreate, along with the streaming options.

One more reason why most of us don't update once the camera is working for our needs lol

also ... the only settings that I've ever changed are auto instead of color only, though it always does color with the light that I have ... and IR only if it needs it but it's never turned IR on. And I've played with the fog toggle to auto as well after I saw comments here. I've not touched anything else. I run these 5 cameras on a 55" screen with the Apple TV 4K Streamie app most days, for hours, day and night, and all looks great. And I check the IVS snapshots usually once a day, and all fine there as well ... all recording 24x7 with Synology Surveillance Station ...

Nighttime video with a human walking within 20ft of the camera.

Any cheap camera can look good when it’s “bright” at night until you have movement . We just proved that again recently.

Yeah, I've gone long times not updating the 5442 but since these cameras are so new and with all of the issues listed here I've been updating at each new public firmware.

The 11/27 (v5) firmware is on Andy's site, but not yet the Dahua site, but I figured since it was on Andy's site, and it's his first update since the initial 7/31/25 firmware that I'd do the update. And for 4 of the 5 cameras it went fine. Oh well, I'll figure this out. I was trying to avoid a factory reset but if that's the only option then one camera is fine.

Oh yeah, I'm a firm believer in everything you've posted, I've read every post in every thread, and thank you again for all of your dedicated time to this.

For me, I just want the best turret varifocal camera, no matter the cost. I had 5442 S2's, and I jumped the gun with the T54PROs thinking no chance they'd be worse than S3, oh well ... :)
