I think it's with everything engaged - lens heater, led's AI (!!!), siren, speaker etc. For sure, 90% of the time, not everything will be on at the same time. The issue with going lower in terms of a switch is the one time everything aligns to cause every feature to be used, or if not every feature more than you budgeted for. In hot climates, probably never happen as heater will never be engaged unless it detects misting due to humidity rather than just low temp. However, in cold climates it's possible. The issue though is where do you pitch your poe if not? If you go for 16w and that 1 day it goes to 17w, thats the camera or poe potentially damaged. That's why I always pitch poe above the camera max to give headroom and avoid the electronics always being maxxed out as electonics don't like prolonged heat or load for max life. So it's an issue in so far as most may very rarely if ever trigger all 24w. But if you don't buget for it, what happens if it occurs? ...and where do you pitch you poe switch if not at full power? 10w, 12w, 15W?...and what happens if the stars align and you pict for 15w and it goes to 16w? Even if you don't exceed are you maxxed out all the time giving potentially lower life? Very hard not to pitch to spec sheet figures unlerss you're prepared to risk damage. Not knocking the new cameras they're looking great. But it is going to require some expensive changes to poe equipment by the look of it.,

Ordered one T54PRO-ZE to replace T54IR-ZE (non S3). If all goes well then will replace all four cameras and add a 5th camera.
We still thinking this is a nice upgrade?
Also ordered the new PFB2203W since it doesn't work with the installed PFB203W.
Assuming that we don't need to worry about tariff fees.
My Switch is "total PoE power budget of 110W, up to 30W per port" so think I'm fine with that.

I’m still waiting to see some closer motion facial video at night that isn’t backlit and relying on the camera vs external lighting. My application.
For now Andy have only 2 turrets in the shop - one fixed lens 54PRO-AS and varifocal 54PRO-ZE, a short reminder of the main differences... and why it's worth paying extra for varifocal???
the main difference is optical zoom & aperture. Varifocal is a little darker (but it's almost invisible).
Due variable focus / aperture and P-Iris it have much better Depth of Field and it can take sharp image from 0.2m (2.0m and 3.5m for fixed lens versions).
On varifocal models in day config you can close aperture (p-iris) and have almost infinity focus on all distances from camera.

Would you agree that this is true across the zoom range?
Specifically if the ZE is at (about) the same FOV as the 3.6mm AS?
I don't have access to for varifocal (only fixed).
But it shouldn't be too big difference in brightness..
But for me 3.6mm with 3.5m close focus distance is too risky..

Correct and I’m beginning to think that part of the reason I don’t like the image quality (of the 3449 Tioc Pro) compared to my older 5442 ASE 3.6 which was 1.5m
Though that doesn’t explain the digital noise.
The other thing is that close focus distance isn’t usually black and white distinct. It’s not like when you hit that magic distance the image goes completely to shit or switches from good to bad like a light switch.
My experience is that it’s fairly subtle until you get right up to the camera, say 24 inches or closer
Each one is different based on FStop. We see it in the 4K 1/1.2 turrets far more than the bullets for example
