Dahua Product Availability in the U.S. ends December 31, 2025

I have question for people who have access to Luminys cams / NVRs / software:

Are they fully compatible (private protocol, not ONVIF) with Dahua cams / NVRs or not??

Can Luminys NVR and mobile app supports fully (over private protocol) connected Dahua cams?

Or vice-versa?

I read different stories about this..

ps. another question - does firmware / software is better? or simply themed into different colors Dahua copy?

ps2. Andy (@EMPIRETECANDY) - do you have any news here? :)

Major US online retailers remove listings for millions of prohibited Chinese electronics

Some snips below. This is possibly one of those common misleading media articles. What it says could be interpreted as barring Andy from shipping to USA.

The FCC issued a new national security notice reminding companies of prohibited items including video surveillance equipment. Carr said the items could allow China to "surveil Americans, disrupt communications networks and otherwise threaten U.S. national security.

The U.S. telecom regulator previously named companies including Huawei, ZTE, China Mobile and China Telecom to the so-called "Covered List," which bars the FCC from authorizing the import or sale of new equipment from those companies.

The agency will vote on October 28 to prohibit authorization of devices containing component parts that are on the Covered List and authorize the agency to prohibit the sale of previously authorized Covered List equipment in specific cases.

In March, the FCC said it was investigating nine Chinese companies on the Covered List including Huawei, ZTE as well as Hytera Communications, Dahua Technology Company, Pacifica Networks/ComNet and China Unicom (Americas).

Maybe there's a fallback of using the old way to order cameras the old way via email or PM. With some careful wordsmithing, one could claim that the sale wasn't done in the US. Or possibly we're small enough to fly under the radar. I don't see anything in the memo prohibiting shipping to the US, but the memo could be an imprecise summary of the actual legal language in the regulation.

I know thousands of Dahua cameras were wiped from Ebay a few weeks back. Can't find one now.

Same on Amazon. But Andy's Empiretech brand is sitll there

Hopefully OEM like Andy will continue to be ok and its just the Dahua branded units

Well I just purchased two from the Amazon EmpireTech storefront. Should be arriving Monday. Maybe since they are EmpireTech brand, it will be ok?

I will repeat my questions about Liminys compatibility with Dahua...
Anyone?

I'm thinking about ordering several IPC-T54IR-ZEB-S3 and IPC-B52IR-Z12EB-S2 cameras for spares. At least I know those cameras work and y'all can be Dahua guinea pigs for these mostly unimpressive overly large new releases available in the boring white color with software that may be refined by 2029. :poop:

There's always hope for the 2030 models.

I don't get it.....the Carr memo makes it sound like all vendors have been breaking the law the last several years by selling devices that were NOT prohibited for purchase and installation by NDAA Section 889, IMO.

My understanding has been that NDAA Section 889 prohibits government agencies and contractors from using or purchasing telecommunications and video surveillance equipment or services from specific companies.

Am I missing something?
