Haven't really figured out night color on this camera. installed them on a full mooned night and it was great. had some overcast and a crescent a week later and couldn't see anything.

Can someone share list of all sported resolutions form main stream ?. Not only max resolution as it is in specs.

What did you gain & lose from swapping to hik firmware. My understanding once swapped there is no reverting back correct. Or no way easy to do it.4096*1860

Where did you download the firmware from? When using your link to hikvision I don't see a firmware download link on that page. Also on the firmware pages I dont see them listing DS-2CD1T83G2P-LIUF . Thanks

Thanks for the quick response!
I'm not able to upgrade mine, when I click on the folder icon through the camera web interface, no file windows pop up. Tried both Chrome and Edge browsers.
Tried guarding vision SW and it says Not Upgradeable under the Firmware Upgrade section of the tool.
Its also odd that under the motion events, I only see basic event, no option to set human/vehicle
Even the Annke app looks different from what youtube video shows for configuring the camera, spooky!
EDIT: Solved it, I had to install their shady plugin and load Edge into IE compat mode. Below pic changes after app is installed to show more options. Weird.

Sorta disappointed in this camera, it lacks IVS and region crossing support. For a smart camera its pretty dumb, I havent found the FTP part of the config menu, maybe it doesnt exist. Its a fine camera for blue Iris if you just need the onvif stream and doing your own image processing. I prefer the higher end hikvision cameras for $180 that have the 1.8 sensor size and more smart motion sensing options.

It definitely could be user error, as I've never used an annke brand camera before. Can you show me where the ivs line crossing option is? On 3-4 meters I can recognize, person, who coming.
But on 8-9, I cant!! Bad picture/video quality.

"4K" without (enought) clearnes daily...
4K video must bee much better!
I must can reed shild on autos, on 7-8 meters, distance!

Yeah, you're right. The sensor is too small for the resolution; you can only detect a person from a distance of up to 4–5 meters. With this camera, you won't be able to read license plates from a distance of about 10 meters.

Do look at the DORI calculation in the cliff notes,
Set your expectations appropriately, as often those new to security cameras believe the "enhance enhance enhance" myth sold to us ( heck, before I did the math I also thought they'd do a better job capturing a clear image further away than reality )

many of us like to use 100 ppf .. so here's the equation for that ..
The equation to calculate the Radius (the distance in feet) for identification for 100 ppf as discussed above:
Radius = (( Horizontal Res / 100 ppf ) * ( 360 / H FOV Angle ))/2*Pi
180 degree FOV .. let's use the specs 4096*1860
so
Radius = (( 4096 / 100 ) * ( 360 / 180 )) / 2*Pi = 13 feet .. so when in good light you should be able to get a decent facial ID image of someone who is close to looking at the camera straight on at about 13 feet from the camera.
13 feet is about 4.3M iirc so .. that is about what you want to test this camera at .. 2x the distance and you're getting 1/2 the pixel density

Hik Software, for this camera, (6MP) resolituon, will give better result, on same camera?
I cant set low resolution, with this Annke firmware.
When I "modify this 4-5 to 7 metar with ok clear video, This will cover my yard much, much better, and Iill have something, not fast nothing, like now..
Have plan to buy Annke NC 500, how long distance can I have face enought clear, on IR, nightly?

Getting comfortable
Virtually every Annke camera has a sensor that's too small for the resolution. The only exception is the NC800, but that one is full color. To recognize license plates from 7 meters away, you need a focal length of at least 2.7–12 mm—and not a camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens.
Nc500 is trash. 1/3 Sensor size is small as F.
