F0.8 has to help. Its lens gathers more light to shine on the 1/1.8 sensor. The spec sheet says it uses an M18 lens mount vs. M16 in the 5442s. It could be a game changer, or another flop. Somebody needs to buy one and report. I agree that the mount is crappy. I've avoided them because the fixed focal S3 and -IL work with the old S2 mounts. No mention of animal detection makes it a non-starter for me. The animal detection in the -IL is so bad that maybe Dahua gave up on it.

Wow! Less than a drop of blood in the water and... ;)

Here's hoping that this will prove to be a good contender! We need one!

edit: Sorry, overreacted. Read through too fast and goofed.

We test the new camera with the PFA130-E, pfa137l,PFB203W, PFB2203W all can work. So this camera can work with all old cams' mounts.

Ha ha, yeah. and it still uses the horrible "new" mount. Doesn't Dahua ever listen to its customers? I'll never buy a camera that doesn't use a set screw. I have a new T54IR-AS-S3 sitting in the closet that I haven't ever used because of that mount.
aha, because You haven't get report lots of guys asking me for the losing lock screws on the motorized lens ones, some people use too big power make the screws stripped, and have to cut the housing and replace the housing.
I checked the 24pro new one is a little bigger than the 54ir ones, but the ball part on the 24 one is bit tighter than the 54ir ones. They make some improvement on it compare to those old ones.

Andy, when are you sending a sample to a user on this forum?

Also, when are you going be stocking spare parts to keep our 5442 (54IR) cameras lasting longer? i.e. housing, base plates, hardware such as screws, etc :p @EMPIRETECANDY

Also, the included hardware in the PFA6330X junction box does not secure the baseplates of all the Dahua turret cameras. I've had to takes the hex screws out of a PFA130E mount (which are smaller length) to make it work on the PFA6330X. The included hex machine screws in the PFA6440X are too long and makes the baseplate of the camera very loose. This is unacceptable.
