I'm not going to buy the ZE model from the new series. It'll be just as bad. Does the new 7 Series have good sensors?

The consensus thus far is to skip the YingYang sensors from Dahua, its too gimmicky, thank goodness we can force color to IR mode and disable smart illumination. The only positive aspect of the non-Sony and non-Omnivision sensor is a tad bit better color saturation, but we don't want to be awed by pretty color. We want real function for both daytime and nighttime 24/7, therefore 5442 is still King.

I want to give these a chance. Specs seem to line up with brand new line of smartsens sensors but that’s just a guess. I like the hardware-first approach. Big optics, little computer. Maybe they change some minds.

Go look at the PRO series thread that on paper the specs look great, but low light performance with motion is poor.

I'd be tempted to try one of these big lens guys, but alas, no animal detection claimed, which is a no-go for me. That is, unless the human and vehicle filters could be really turned off, but that was lied about for so many cameras that I wouldn't trust any claim about it. I shelled out the bucks to try the -IL, somebody else has to for these new ones.
