This is the footage after the update. I think there is some improvement, but there is still ghosting. I turned on the OSD. It looks like it puts the shutter speed on there. I don't know if I would have changed it to something besides the 1/120 that it shows. There is a good bit of IR light on the area. I also included the video from the T54IR on the other corner where I'm playing with the "self-adaptive" setting for the Image/Working Mode.

In B&W/IR mode the 5442/54IR has few equals.

Oh, wow, G6 Pro defintely shows some improvements. Although for real comparison it would be better to put both of them as close as possible to each other.
Also, self-adaptive mode is not the best way to configure T54IR, especially at night time.

I would start with 0-5 or 0-6 and 50 gain with 40-50 2-3d NR.

Currently? (The 5231 in its day)

Both HiK and Axis have comparable 1/1.8” models. Of course you have to invest in their ecosystem just like we do in Dahua, and I don’t see any benefit to doing so with HiK and of course Axis is ridiculously priced

I do like how the T6 Pro handles shadows during the day. It will take some more tinkering with the T54IR to dial it in. Currently, it's set to 0-6ms, 0-50gain. Exposure Comp may help.

It appears the G6 like the 54PRO effectively has a WDR like function (or its HDR ) turned on by default.

But to be honest, you’d need them side by side to know

Oh, yeah, G6 Pro is absolutely fanatastic at full day light conditions. But when light level drops lower than some threshold (cloudy winter day for example) its performace starts to fall behind latest Dahua cameras. At least that's how it worked for me last winter

Are those dialed in?

I ask becasue the 54IR out of the box tends to need a boost in Saturation and tweeking Contrast and WB, but at some point it becomes a preference thing...

Thats the hard part about testing. There are a lot of controls that can make substantial differences in image beyond just Exposure.
I always take the approach of dialing it in to the best I can achieve and then comparing.

The goal being "is the camera capable of x"

They're neither completely dialed in. I'm having to make small adjustments to the T54IR under different scenes to get identification capability. The G6 Pro is on Auto for pretty much everything except Exposure is set to "Frame Clarity". I've been pretty happy with the G6 Pro for daytime compared to the T54IR (just from the amount of configuration needed to get identification quality photos from various scenes). But, it won't do much good from a security standpoint if this is all the G6 Pro is capable of. Ubiquiti has escalated my case. We'll see what happens.

The good thing about the G6 Pro turret is that it is a Varifocal, but at lowest focal length I still find it too wide compared to the lowest focal length in the T54PRO and 54IR

Lets face it: Ubiquiti is Rethinking IT (as what their slogan say), but they don't know much about cameras apart from making proprietary designs and not giving full granular control to things you own.
