Much like the 54PRO, cheap sensor. Hell, it makes the 54PRO look Good!

It seems all we're getting out of China lately is cheap, noisy sensors, and all of the manufacturers are trying to offset it with AI, NR, etc.

The problem is: "normal" people are buying this crap because all they care is number of megapixels and good looking static images, preferably in color.
They don't think about ID of moving objects... or, rather they don't want to think about ID and stuff like that(NR, gain, shutter speed), because it's way too complicated for them :(
So, why Dahua should spend more money, using better sensors, when they can sell the cheap ones?
I'm sure they are going to build really good cameras, but they will cost much more, the new 7-series cameras is a good example of that.

Exactly.

Cant tell you how many I've tried to help in private chat and even when they see the blur and noise out of the 54PRO or others, they still love it.
"Its "brighter" and has great daytime color/contrast..."

But ask 99 out of 100 users here to show you a 30 second clip of a human at 15-25ft at night and they go radio silent.

I get it, many are coming from old 2MP and analog systems and the difference is so substantial they forget the whole premise.

As I said in another thread, it's a horrible image, but if its "good enough" for you, then Bless your heart

I couldn't wait to mount Andy's camera, so I went to the other corner to get some daytime shots at default settings. Distances are the same 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 ft increments.
I'm going to leave the G6 Pro on the other corner while I wait to hear back from Unifi support.

But what are we going to buy when Andy runs out of T54IR's ???
I'm hoping for an upgrade from T54IR with future newer cameras. So far 54PRO is a disappointment. That's why I don't log in here as often anymore because there are no new toys I'm interested in at the moment.

There is SD5R404GA-HNF that's kind of interesting but not available for sale right now. It seems like Andy also have no answer for when it will be available.

I'm looking forward to the night time videos of T54IR ZE S3 Vs G6 Pro later.:highfive:
