It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Ai port has been implemented, its pretty cool. Curious to see how reliable it is, I have read they can be buggy and randomly reboot or unpair with cameras. If the are deemed reliable, I just need to get a powershell written to make free space on an external archived SMB share and we'll be...

PTZ call to zone and tracking problems

Finally got a a chance to mess with this, no luck. The presets are set on the PTZ's GUI. Do they need to be added to BI instead?

    Need recommendations on PTZ cameras.

Listen to Wittaj and Bigred. Bite the bullet and get the PTZ5A4M-25X and use spotter cams. You will not be disappointed.

    Omada versus Ubiquiti

Yeah, the eitherlighting has the augmented reality feature too. The most helpful feature is if you have several say cameras and don't know what one goes where, you can ping it from the console and it will make the port lighting flash. I have used that a few times before my was organized and...

    Omada versus Ubiquiti

For 16-24 port switches? Not really it just looks cool and you can tell what plugs are going to what vlans. Now if you have multiple 48 port switches I could see it being argued as useful.

There's hope! I will play around with it tonight. Thanks!

I don't think the wife will be happy about another PTZ on the front of the house lol

PTZ call to zone and tracking problems

I have a PTZ5A4M-25 and two spotter B54IT-Z4E-S3 (north & south). I have the PTZ on preset 1 to view my street to the north. I have it configured to be called to preset 2 (south) when the south spotter cam is triggered. However when the PTZ is tracking someone walking from north to south...

    Omada versus Ubiquiti

Now we just need Omada to make some switches with etherlighting lmao

    Omada versus Ubiquiti

Omada's new Fusion Gateway and newly released Fusion 2.5G PoE look awesome. Can create ultimately the same configured network of a Unifi schematic for hundreds of dollars cheaper. Their GUI is basically copycatted off Unifi's as well LOL

Don’t have my my ai port yet. But yes these are the individual camera settings within Protect.

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

All are the T54IR-ZE-S3. Some through Protect show the High and Low quality streams. One shows no streams to choose from and my newest added camera let's me disable the low quality stream. Currently chatting with support... T54IR-ZE-S3

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

In Protect I have different recording options for all of my 5442 cams. One cam shows the high quality and low quality streams to choose from. One show's the high qulaity and lets me disable the low quality stream, and the other does show any of the options. Have you experienced this issue...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Well I broke down and snagged an ai port and rack mount for 6 ai ports. Curious to see how they perform. Just rebuilt the homelab so there is plenty of space to add some new toys to play with.

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Do you have to adjust the camera resolutions on the 5442's in order to get two cameras per AI port?

    So close with Unifi Protect

No but that is sweet, are you using it? I've been going back and fourth with Ubiquiti support sending them the various onvif lines from ivs notifications so it would be cool if they implement them into Protect.

    So close with Unifi Protect

I have a Unifi ecosystem and the mobile camera quality wildly better than blue iris. BI has a special place in my heart but if I can get protect to function with my IVS rules, I'm definitely making the switch. I will still leave BI on my server for redundancy.

    So close with Unifi Protect

I am able to get motion detections via enabling SMD but we are still not receiving detections with IVS rules. The camera send's the standard onvif alerts with IVS enabled: RuleEngine/CellMotionDetector/Motion (basic motion) RuleEngine/LineDetector/Crossed RuleEngine/FieldDetector/Intrusion...

    New Server Build (Need input)

I'm putting together a Sliger rack-mounted NAS built around an i5-14600K, 32 GB of RAM, and an HBA SAS/SATA controller supporting up to 12 drives. It'll mainly host Jellyfin and Blue Iris. I'm torn on the OS. Part of me wants to keep it simple with a stripped-down Windows 11 install and just...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I’d buy a UNAS in a heartbeat if Protect would figure out motion alerts with IVS rules for third-party cameras. The Protect app is excellent, and the video quality and playback experience on my phone are miles ahead of Blue Iris. But I can’t justify dropping another $600 on AI Ports on top of...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Basic motion alerts do work with all of my Dahua cameras but the caveat is you have to enable video detection/smart motion. Protect still does not recognize IVS rules. Using video detection caused me to get way too many false alerts.

Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

Download Tailscale on both your BI machine and phone, make sure there under the same Tailscale account and it is connected on both devices. On your BI machine go to the toolbar at the bottom, click on the Tailscale icon and that is the IP you want to remember. Then in BI go to settings, web...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I can confirm with ver. 7.1.55 Protect will not work with my line crossing IVS rules, however it will send me alerts by using the cameras generic video/smart detection but you're going to get a million false alerts.

Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

I tried zerotier when I was new to all of this and could never get it to work. I have been using tailscale for over a year with practically no issues aside from an update changing my BI machines IP which was easily fixed by updating the new IP in BI and on my phones app.

From what I was able to gather the do support the M profile. It could be a small setting I am missing but hopefully they end up being compatible I would love to be able to fully transition to Protect while not being forced to use their dog shit cameras.

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I’m on early access 7.1.55 and still not able to get any type of motion alerts to my protect with Dahua cams. I have seen recent posts on Reddit of people with cheap Tapo cams now getting onvif detections.

Has anyone tried the PFA126 Mount?

Ive got one, it's a tank and makes connecting and disconnecting the camera much easier especially, up on a ladder.

    NVR recommendations for Axis cam's

A friend asked for help switching his business's cameras (only 5) to a self monitored system. He was bent over backwards by a local company and is currently paying close to $500/yr for their app and off site management that he cannot change settings on. I currently use blue iris but he is less...

Help dialing in my T54IR-ZE S3

I experimented a bit and found that when the camera faced the white light, it reflected off the top and sides of my head and body, making my face appear too dark at night. Although switching to IR eliminated color, the camera’s ability to project light horizontally toward me resulted in much...
