Looks like Ubiquiti has lost its steam and their pricing structure is extremely manipulative

"A Whole New World"
And their customer-base is dumb AF (mainly those that reside on Reddit) - seriously, you throw in memory and tariff surcharges, thinking that Ubiquiti is being transparent in their pricing structure - in reality, the price is what you see; overpriced, half-baked junk. Their firmware updates intentionally cripple their hardware intermittently in between stable and unstable firmware releases.
I would only recommend Ubiquiti Networking equipment (AVOID UniFi PROTECT garbage) - and that too, buy exclusively fanless switches, because they are generally built like a tank

Meanwhile see what retailers like Microcenter did recently in response to Ubiquti's price increases

Save your money and avoid their outdoor rated cameras - they suck, period.

I'm with you.... I have stopped buying from the Ubiquiti website a while back and only bought through Micro Center since they have the message about "No memory surcharges" but seems starting last week, it is not the case anymore.

While I can say that pricing at Micro Center is a little higher than the price listed on the Ubiquiti website, some of the items do end up being a better deal. There are even open box items that are even better. I literally bought a new ..... well.... open box... Cloudkey at a awesome price.

Man.... even the 1TB SSD itself inside the cloudkey is that price at Micro Center. But.... good while those deals lasted cause looking today.....

I guess they caught on to how good of a deal they were listing those open box as....

I think the general public is reacting to the pricing or what you are getting for the ubiquiti pricing. I would usually frequent the Micro Center website for good deals on open box Ubiquiti stuff.... Ever since they started adding on all the tariff and surcharges... There has been A LOT of returns (open box) items at Microcenter.

Previously I would see a handful.... Maybe max of 10 items. Lately it has been high 30's to mid 40's. It has been consistent for the past month. Now.... I wonder if people buy these to test and feel they aren't really getting their money's worth or what is the case? I got to admit I did buy a lot of these products from Micro Center when Ubiquiti were tacking on all the fees where Micro Center didn't and if it was open box on top of that.... Definitely worth it. Now I am just tired of even considering it for the price they want. Or I don't want it THAT bad.

Excited to see how the Omada NVR116P-2T and the Fusion 2.5G PoE are priced and how their NVR suite is.

I picked up one of these before the memory surcharge began. Switch Pro Max 48 PoE - Ubiquiti Store

Found it 'open box' on ebay for a small discount actually.

It is a pretty decent switch and tidied up my rack nicely, however two things piss me off:
  1. The per-port RGB lighting does not work if nothing is plugged in / link is down. Which makes that feature a lot less useful for color coding by VLAN than I thought it would be.
  2. It takes several minutes (like 5 minutes) to boot up and begin passing traffic. This is in comparison with my perfectly adequate Mikrotik SWOS switches that boot up and work in a couple of seconds.
