    BI Built-in AI image resolution

Can anyone tell me what the resolution is for image(s) that Blue Iris will pass to its internal AI - I only use sub streams from my cams for motion and AI and would like to align the sub streams source feed from the camera as close as is possible to what BI will use for internal AI processing. I...

    6.0.3.6 New Logfile Entries

So just to confirm, although you/we add the parent install folder "C:\Program Files\Blue Iris" we also need to add the actual executable/process as well "C:\Program Files\Blue Iris\BlueIris.exe" ? - This seems odd to me, is it a bug in how Windows defender applies exclusions?

    6.0.3.1 - Broke my webserver

Neither of them are open source, there is price for both if you have more users/devices than the free tier allows, you're dependent on a 3rd party service, all users require another app installing on all devices they use and for them to then run/connect said app and maybe have some level of...

Thanks for confirming, I use nginx as a reverse proxy to remotely access BI with https, I'll hold of updating.

    Periodic Scan

I've not had another object(car) outside the motion zone alert overnight, but I've still had a passing car's headlights trigger motion and then my car listed as a static object trigger my alert.

    Periodic Scan

I've had this version installed since this morning and think I'll also have to roll back, I've got a very similar issue in that all motion triggers are then triggering my "Alert" >> "On alert" actions even when AI lists them as "Nothing Found" - I have a number of pushover, MQTT and other alert...

BI 6.0.2.7 - very odd alert behavior

Very strange that a reboot has any effect when the update restarts the whole BI service, and you clearly see all BI processes briefly disappear and all the RAM and GPU ram freed up. You'd assume everything would be flushed, I wonder if there is something to this, maybe an odd temp file or...

Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

It's not a privacy mask, it's the area that falls outside of Zone A (not in a zone and should not be considered for motion or AI) I've had this config for years.

Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

Can anyone explain this to me; 1, In the black masked out area is a road. Why is a car passing on the road in a masked out area getting detected by AI? 2, My car is clearly getting picked up as a static object but when the cat triggered motion BI flagged the car.

    Trying SSD on BI

Worth adding to the above, most SSD disks come with details about there expected wear given X amount TB of disk writes per year, the larger the SSD disk and lower the writes the longer the SSD will last. If you know your daily/weekly/monthly BI recording/disk write sizes, you can easily...

    Trying SSD on BI

FYI - I ran SATA 250GB Samsung SSD (860 EVO) as my main BI recordings new folder with 6 cams (~40mbits/sec) for about 6 months (on 90% full BI moved recordings a spinning rust 4TB drive) over the ~6-month period of 24/7 recording the drive went from 3% wear to 35% wear (as shown by the disks...

I've got the same issue (parked car) identified as moving if something else triggers motion in the scene - whatever Ken has done recently with static object he seems to be making it worst not better, I've never had issues in the past unless there was a significant scene factor such as heavy...

    Transfer BI to new system

Ok so new system is built and BI transferred over. Here is that I did, and it worked perfectly (every single BI setting for AI and cams carried over along with all alerts, clips and DB) On the old system, I clicked the "Copy button for support" under the help section and made a note of my...

    Transfer BI to new system

In a few days time I'm replacing my current BI system, what is the correct and easiest process to do this? I was thinking; Install a fresh copy of BI on the new system. Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

Check your coco.names file in the AI Models folder, the first/early releases had everything enabled but later releases disabled most of the junk not needed for CCTV systems. FYI a - (hyphen) before the object disables it.

Things that Blue Iris and AI hates - Just a little fun

Thought I would start a fun post for people to list the things that their BI and AI system hates. I'll make a start, my list is; Spiders and their Webs blowing in the wind. Heavy Rain. Christmas lights.

When comparing YOLOv10 vs. YOLOv8 for CCTV footage, the choice depends on whether your priority is raw speed and efficiency (YOLOv10) or high detection accuracy, particularly for small or distant objects (YOLOv8). YOLOv10 is faster and more efficient due to its NMS-free (Non-Maximum...

I don't run/execute those ALmodelpacks, I just open them in Winrar and manually extract the models I want. I have a total of three files in my models folder, coco.names, bi-general-v5.onnx and yolov8m.onnx - I do have the advantage of not needing faces or licence plates on my BI setup :)

Hi Mike, any chance you'll be releasing a version of bi-general-v5 trained on the medium models? My personal setup only calls for detection of people/persons and cars, I like the high confidence of the standard medium model but don't want the bloat of the other objects and I find your models...

    Version 6

Something feels a little off on your drive/system, so I only have a WDC WD40EFRX-68N32N0 5400rpm drive with 8 cams(24/7 mainstream recording), but it sits almost idle - almost any SATA 5400rpm drive should get a minimum of 100MBytes per/sec so unless you have some crazy high bit rates saturating...
