No need to apologise, I am in the same boat, feedback is good with and without video/images. You can always crop some still/freeze frames from the video, that sometimes works around the privacy issue. -

Agreed on all points, I am hoping if Dahua can reduce the 'auto' features then maybe night will improve. My concern is the sensor could be the limiting factor here in which case we will be out of luck. If these could match the S3 at night then they would be a big win, my 54ProZE still surprises... -

I know, just have to push them best possible at the moment, this is one reason I have sharpening off and NR almost zero or sub 10. Keep gain low as I can and suffer dark images :facepalm: But I totally agree, at night these things are sub par, the 4K and S3 look very good in comparison. -

That should help 4K sales :) but yes, welcome to the 'try and freeze motion at night' club with the 54Pro, I recommend shutter below 2ms, 1.5ms if you can manage it. No logic I know but just facts for now... -

That cat is moving slow I know but still looking pretty good, wish people and cars moved that slow :rofl: Similar with my B54IR-Z4E S3, faster shutter and always brighter, source of great frustration at this point to be honest. -

I would just be grateful at this point if the 54Pro could get level with the S3 at night, and during the day for that matter. Shutter below 2ms during the day (and night really!) for these to be sharp with freeze motion, I run mine below 1 during the day, yes, really!! Daytime settings below... -

Yes there is really no taming these at the moment, we are reaching the same conclusion at this point. Unless tuning out this auto processing brings these back closer to the 5442, then I suspect the sensor may well be the limiting factor here. We are finding the limits and beyond of what they can... -

It is on the limit honestly, pushing the gain will cause other issues, dropping the shutter will darken it quite a lot. Just have to try shutter below 2 or 3 and see how it plays out. Otherwise just go with IR and tune that to suit, still have to keep shutter low (fast) though. -

IR Would improve it from a motion standpoint no doubt, would be nice to keep in colour if possible though. Don't forget the iris @Chokolinho - 65+ if it is below that already. -

Ok, that is not so bad, but shutter has to go lower for motion sadly, I figured it would. Below 2ms is calling sadly, then possibly push the gain but really best if you can manage not to. You are about to hit the limit if that has not already been passed :thumb: -

Maybe knock sharpness to zero if it is looking to grainy. Can even try NR to nothing but still enabled, surprising how much better that can look, it might not be clean but should be better for motion. Keep the iris above 65 but maybe below 85 also if you can, will brighten it a touch. -

The scene looks good but for motion you will have to suffer less brightness...maybe, I would go: Shutter: 0-4ms at least Gain: 69 NR: below 10 Sharpness: 0 to 9 Fact is unless you can get serious light (4000 lumen+) then compromises with digital fuzzies (@bigredfish :D:thumb:) need to be made... -
