Emerging details from the Epstein Files unfold...slowly....

The dude upgraded his network gear to the latest greatest for this time frame.... but yet, kept his 1994 Panasonic 2 pair digital phone system intact? Doesn't even have Music On Hold or Overhead paging inputs connected (the 4 RCA connectors on right-most card). And that cable management...

Accessing cams with BI on NVR POE ports

I know I have Blue Iris at home, VPN tunnel to my work office. At my work office, we have some Dahua IP cameras plugged into POE switch + Dahua NVR. These IP cameras feed both NVR + Blue Iris fine & dandy. As for accessing cameras behind a NVR? Dunno's.

    BI6 and Home Assistant - server_all_cameras gone

since Blue Iris already does MQTT, that covers most of all automations I can think of. I have spare Pi's laying around... even some older i3 NUC's that I can just simply slap UI3 on as a source for TV or something. I'll figure something sweet out :) Just spent a good $3k this December for...

    OnlyFans

During my 40+ years of researching online adult sites for scientific hypothesizes, it does come to my surprise that 1 day prior to OnlyFans, there were back channel low key webcamera sites littered all over the place. These women (and I guess men...but that wasn't the side of my scientific...

    Panoramic PTZ

Yes... I have tripwires setup for HUMAN auto-tracking on the PTZ. Works great. I know there is a way for the 180camera's to have tripwires and then the PTZ to move... haven't tried to figure that part out yet.

    Panoramic PTZ

Granted... good external lighting due to being in business plaza. I have one of these models for home, but not yet setup. And I would not consider this a MAIN camera to rely on solo on a side of the house. Night time at a distant (DORI) I would not expect to be all that great. The 180 + PTZ...

    BI6 and Home Assistant - server_all_cameras gone

Sidenote question: how is the Blue Iris integration into Home Assistant? suitable for use? cool? aweful? Didn't know 1 existed. I know of the Dahua individual camera integration, but not the Blue Iris.

    Zooz ZSE70 Outdoor Motion Sensor

I have the Dahua wireless motion camera spotlight in my driveway. Previous was a high lumen 110vac LED motion light that I required for past security events to light up the neighborhood, enough to blind my neighbors at 3am :) Wanted a lower lumen motion light, so bought the Dahua one with...

    Immigration or Invasion?

Someone let me know how to ignore/block "general" forum messages when I click on the "HOME" icon to see latest new messages so that I can help people with IP related cameras, I'll be a happy camper.

Just hook up some shielded underground Cat6 to your Tesla Wall battery and whalla :)

    Immigration or Invasion?

And this is why I backed off IPCT for months in the last couple years. The vitriol politics mentioned on this website disgusts me. I did not become a member just to be inundated with forum political opinion messaging from either the left or the right. I get enough of the fire branding on TV news...

Need help with new networks install.

Adding to the above wise suggestions... If you decide to pull fiber, ALSO pull copper and ALSO a pull string for future use. The copper could be used to install PIR alarm boxes, DC related objects (IR blaster, 24vdc LED lighting, etc). Also could be backup to the fiber. Heck, I would still pull...

Advice on selection and position of new cameras

I was in a rush to install cameras. 1 camera I really wanted was to point down the entry way about 200' distant. I am lucky in that there is only 1 way onto my property (unless someone jumps fences with dogs & humans in the area). I specifically installed a lamp post 50' distant down my...

PTZ only not working in Blue Iris

oh...so it is the PTZ controls in BI that do not work. I had same issue with another generic PTZ camera. Controls were funky. Tried different protocols but no go.

PTZ only not working in Blue Iris

When you go to add the camera to Blue Iris, you input the IP address, username, and password. Does BI actually find it?

DCS PowerSeries 5010 (832) alarm system and EyezOn Envisalink EVL_4EZR - questions

I do now know your exact DSC model # capabilities or if it's newer or older... I have the DSC 1834? Has been nearly 4 years since purchased and installed. It is programmed by keypad. Which I find AOK only because I am a business telephone systems guy from the 2000's where you had to do the...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

does the liquid tight conduit magically just twist into the junction box threads without a connector? I've seen people do that. I never have tried myself as I always thought need mating connector between liquid tight & junction box.

a 90 degree angle piece looks to connect nicely to the underside of the junction box without interfering with backside

Would appreciate guidance on camera install locations

is exactly what I did...mostly :) purchased 4 x 2.8mm cameras. Next batch of 4 soon after were varifocal. Next batch of 4 were AI varifocals. Before I knew it, had over 20 cameras of various models to have fun with.

An unpopulated 12 port patch panel costs $40'ish, cost. Each network cable will need a network jack to be inserted into the unpopulated patch panel. My jacks are Cat6 jacks and cost is just under $5 each. CMR is fine for residence. If a fire breaks out, the plastic smoke coming off a network...

1.) if both are managed switches, ensure not using same IP 2.) swap SFP modules from top to bottom and vice versa. See if problem follows. 3.) swap LC connector ends from left to right, and vice versa. See if problem follows. 4.) ensure you did not create a loop. Positive you do not have...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

You are only running 1 Cat5e or 1 Cat6, correct? Could run a single cable in 3/8" conduit (EMT or flex). Now, if you were running 4 or 5 cables, that is when upsizing is smart.

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

PVC = ewwww, brother, ewwww. better to run 1/2 EMT conduit and flex conduit where needed. PVC will bend, warp, discolor, shatter after 2-3 years of UV sunlight & freezing temps. Heck...that short of a run, I would just use 1/2" liquid tight flex non-metallic conduit from start to finish...

I should state something about MY pricing scheme of $200 vs $600 for residential network wiring: I was just an employee at a low voltage cabling business at the time when a security event happened at my house (the now infamous Da Tire Slasher). I had no cameras, no thought of home defense...

450'? wow. I would not know what camera view that far. 60mm focal or 45x PTZ. Is possible to run a 6" depth network cable out 300' and post post there to help with the distance? Or a point to point wifi?

    Elevator Corner Camera

yea... that HDPW5441C-AS-PV on the Dahua page looks like a fantastic elevator camera...but geez... lots of bells & whistles (anti-moped, x/y axis, temp). a basic 360 will work. ensure you get one with audio recordings.

    Elevator Corner Camera

to be fair... Looney is NOT a distribution dealer so he is unable to give you what is on the market for availability with all the tariffs and Dahua restrictions going on in the USA. He did show you a Dahua link for elevator camera's available globally. To say he was not helpful would be...

IPcams outside looking towards house, and elsewhere

    Elevator Corner Camera

I'd more lean towards a 360 camera, dead center of ceiling. Of course, your corner cameras are vandal proofed and the 360 is not. But eh... if someone wants to shield the view of any camera within the confines of an elevator, not sure if vandal proofed or not will help...
