    Blue Iris UI3

Blue Iris currently does not support remote streaming audio from an MP4. In the latest version of UI3 you can have UI3 open MP4 files natively which bypasses Blue Iris's streaming pipeline, if you really need the audio. But then the video player is separate from UI3, so it is not very well...

I fixed the thread title. 1.3/2" -> 1/3.2". These are very different sizes.

Internal AI Causing Massive CPU/Memory Usage?

@Vettester BI Status > Connections shows active clients of Blue Iris's web server. Those have absolutely no relation to BI Settings > AI > max analyzers. If you want to limit the number of web server connections (you shouldn't have any reason to), that is done in BI Settings > Web server >...

A Blue Iris support ticket is the only way feature requests will make it to the developer.

Recommendation for horse arena cam to record rides

I don't know if you're going to have a good time relying solely on PTZ auto-tracking for this. It'll work great sometimes, and in my experience they move smoothly enough, but sometimes it'll just be looking the wrong way. I'd recommend at least one fixed camera that sees the entire arena. A...

Is my Dahua DVR being hacked?

It looks like certainly the result of your DVR being hacked. Seeing 127.0.0.1/localhost in the log indicates that it probably wasn't even a simple authentication bypass, but rather they got enough control over the DVR (e.g. via an SSH connection or some other kind of command injection that...

Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

Is the phone actually connected to tailscale? You can check in the admin console: Tailscale and double-check the IP address there.

Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

I believe that is correct. You don't need to enter anything there. Tailscale IP can go in both fields if you keep tailscale connected all the time on the phone. If you don't keep tailscale connected on the phone while at home, then you should only enter the tailscale IP in the WAN field and...

Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

This step is unnecessary unless you've got the "Bind exclusively" box checked, and there's no reason to do that.

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

    I think you mean 12 megapixels at night. 16 x 4 would be 64.

    Help with UI3 and Tailscale

For 99.99% of users the "Bind exclusively" checkbox is just asking for issues since that prevents Blue Iris from accepting connections on all network interfaces. Leave it unchecked. There's nothing that needs to change in Blue Iris to support Tailscale or any other VPN. Tailscale IP addresses...

Abusive Boyfriend tries to run over girlfriend who jumped out of moving car - Instead Hits a Parked Car

The video doesn't make it clear he was trying to run her over, does it?? Looked more like she was just trying to escape and he was trying to follow and not watching where he was going well enough. Either way the guy needs one of the bigger books thrown at him I think.

What contributes most to your utility bills? Usage or the Delivery cost?

Usage by far is the most expensive part. I use a lot of electricity.

Is Blue Iris worth pursuing for my situation, or am I pushing it beyond its practical comfort zone?

I apologize for not being super familiar with cloned camera behavior but I am not sure if your clones are actually sharing the decoder there. 1073.8 MP/s is a lot of video being processed, and you might be running into limits of memory bandwidth. If your machine is dual socket, I am pretty sure...

HTTPS web server not starting up when Blue Iris Starts but can be started manually

If BI runs then you should be fine. It won't be able to start if the C++ thing is not installed. It just sounds like the installation procedure was done a little sloppy; it should NOT ask you to restart before the install is fully completed but Ken likely didn't wire up the C++ redist...

Relatively seamless yes. If anything 5.9.9.98 is more of a beta release.

Probably Zerotier's fault. The service has been going downhill. Switch to Tailscale.

Can the cameras in BI6 not be arranged the same way as in BI5?

Most or all of Blue Iris 6's layout differences were done in Blue Iris 5, so I'm guessing you were running quite an old version of BI 5. You're probably referring to the old "1-up", "4-up", etc options. Those are still available, but you need to click the "edit layout" button Then right...

The future of Ubiquiti - it does not seem they will go down a slippery slope and do bad for their customers

I am curious what is the difference between a regular network switch and one that is optimized for "AV" streaming. Because generally speaking a regular wired ethernet switch will have only a few microseconds of latency and 0% packet loss at virtually all times (unless the stuff you plug into...

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet AND Blue Iris

20-50 Mbps is a lot more than enough for good remote camera viewing. The performance issue is probably just from bad latency and/or packet loss. Unless your VPN solution is relayed through a third party that isn't performing well.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Yup I have no idea what is wrong then. Better email BI support and hopefully they will have some idea. I'm guessing they will need you to export the BI settings and send to them.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Also worth a look at your Streaming 0 profile configuration in Blue Iris (find this in BI Settings > Web server > Advanced) and reset that profile to defaults.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Ok there is something strange going on. The camera config looks fine, and the BI Status > Cameras looks fine (except that sub stream frame rates are mostly lower than the main stream, but I doubt that is related to this resolution issue). One problem is, it appears Blue Iris is reporting that...

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

I am unaware of any recent bugs that would cause this. The only way I know of to have UI3 get "stuck" with a substream is to restart the camera while UI3 is actively streaming it. At least in the past, Blue Iris would fail to switch to sending the main stream if UI3 requested the video feed...

HTTPS web server not starting up when Blue Iris Starts but can be started manually

You should contact Blue Iris support about it. It is definitely broken and with no hint of what is wrong, that is really the only thing I can think of to do. Service mode is a good idea even if only just so that if Blue Iris crashes it will start again automatically.

I Fell Down the Pixel Rabbit Hole

Not bad for $600 I guess, at least until the lamp dies. I'm curious how it compares with the cheap 98" TV. The sheer mass of such a TV scares me off. The hassle to move and install it, to dispose of it when it stops working or otherwise becomes obsolete. It is too much for me. That is why I...

I Fell Down the Pixel Rabbit Hole

For sure, a lot of people's TVs are some combination of too small and too far away for 4K resolution to be "worth it". I have a 150 inch projection screen and my current projector is only 1080p. But because my typical viewing distance is roughly 17 feet, I cannot really discern individual...

HTTPS web server not starting up when Blue Iris Starts but can be started manually

Check Blue Iris's log to see if it mentions anything about the web server. If they went to the effort of putting a warning/error icon into the user interface, they might have logged something. Or the icon might have a tooltip if you mouse over it. One fairly common obstacle is having multiple...
