PTZ only not working in Blue Iris

DCS PowerSeries 5010 (832) alarm system and EyezOn Envisalink EVL_4EZR - questions

I do now know your exact DSC model # capabilities or if it's newer or older... I have the DSC 1834? Has been nearly 4 years since purchased and installed. It is programmed by keypad. Which I find AOK only because I am a business telephone systems guy from the 2000's where you had to do the...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

does the liquid tight conduit magically just twist into the junction box threads without a connector? I've seen people do that. I never have tried myself as I always thought need mating connector between liquid tight & junction box.

a 90 degree angle piece looks to connect nicely to the underside of the junction box without interfering with backside

Would appreciate guidance on camera install locations

is exactly what I did...mostly :) purchased 4 x 2.8mm cameras. Next batch of 4 soon after were varifocal. Next batch of 4 were AI varifocals. Before I knew it, had over 20 cameras of various models to have fun with.

An unpopulated 12 port patch panel costs $40'ish, cost. Each network cable will need a network jack to be inserted into the unpopulated patch panel. My jacks are Cat6 jacks and cost is just under $5 each. CMR is fine for residence. If a fire breaks out, the plastic smoke coming off a network...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

You are only running 1 Cat5e or 1 Cat6, correct? Could run a single cable in 3/8" conduit (EMT or flex). Now, if you were running 4 or 5 cables, that is when upsizing is smart.

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

PVC = ewwww, brother, ewwww. better to run 1/2 EMT conduit and flex conduit where needed. PVC will bend, warp, discolor, shatter after 2-3 years of UV sunlight & freezing temps. Heck...that short of a run, I would just use 1/2" liquid tight flex non-metallic conduit from start to finish...

I should state something about MY pricing scheme of $200 vs $600 for residential network wiring: I was just an employee at a low voltage cabling business at the time when a security event happened at my house (the now infamous Da Tire Slasher). I had no cameras, no thought of home defense...

450'? wow. I would not know what camera view that far. 60mm focal or 45x PTZ. Is possible to run a 6" depth network cable out 300' and post post there to help with the distance? Or a point to point wifi?

    Elevator Corner Camera

yea... that HDPW5441C-AS-PV on the Dahua page looks like a fantastic elevator camera...but geez... lots of bells & whistles (anti-moped, x/y axis, temp). a basic 360 will work. ensure you get one with audio recordings.

    Elevator Corner Camera

to be fair... Looney is NOT a distribution dealer so he is unable to give you what is on the market for availability with all the tariffs and Dahua restrictions going on in the USA. He did show you a Dahua link for elevator camera's available globally. To say he was not helpful would be...

IPcams outside looking towards house, and elsewhere

I ran underground Cat6 to 2 different front locations. 1 location has 4 Cat6's, other location has 2 Cat6. bought some of those 4' fake boulder rocks. bought a birdhouse I have a Dahua 5442 camera in the birdhouse catching the beginning of my driveway and beyond. Never really "fitted" it...

    Elevator Corner Camera

I'd more lean towards a 360 camera, dead center of ceiling. Of course, your corner cameras are vandal proofed and the 360 is not. But eh... if someone wants to shield the view of any camera within the confines of an elevator, not sure if vandal proofed or not will help...

Question about a camera setup in apartment

For those in the future timeline researching apartment camera systems, I'll give my opinion: 9ft ceiling are standard height for drop ceilings and hard ceilings in regard to hallways. Could get lucky and get 10' or higher but building standard is usually 9'. Any camera you have to put in these...

I have good lighting in the neighbor hood so the smaller sensors work great here. I use the PTZ to keep eye on packages with presets and alerts that I monitor from DMSS, SmartPSS lite, and also Blue Iris.

my picture above was a PTZ3E10X-T180. Not too shabby. It is a 2 channel camera: 180 view for channel 1, and PTZ for channel 2. Does have mic, speaker, red/blue LED's. Does auto-track humans (not vehicles with current firmware). Not too shabby of a multi-cam unit. For my purpose, the...

As for why the T180 doesn't have IR.. you have to think of the reason why the T180 exists. I have theory! The T180's were made for getting the best image & video for a short distance only, not 50' or 100' distance. Think front door or porch or immediate front yard area only. There are...

I think PTZ's are great! Of course, does come with the spendier cost. And the realization that PTZ's have a smaller sensor (2.8's?). They still work at dark night, but it's not best-of-the-best. Would have to supplement with spotter cameras that have the job of spotting dark night alerts and...

Shared Cameras - DMSS - No online account

In regards to why have DMSS account? Dahua NVR's & IP cameras are not the only things Dahua are into. Have to remember that Dahua products were not designed for direct to consumer purchases. Installers and dealers are suppose to get involved. With my dealings of Toshiba business systems (for...

I need help with what I believe is a Dahua.

I may tackle my VTH's over the weekend. I have 4 of them (1 is bricked, I think thanks to faulty wrong firmware upgrade). Keep in mind... this is a villa system. You have the master VTO. I see you have 1 VTH. There are more VTH's you can install: bedroom, kitchen, garage, living room, etc...

I need help with what I believe is a Dahua.

My VTH menu looks nothing like that from the previous display image/icons to the newer image/icons graphics. Hyundai might of added a tweak here or there to the firmware to make it different from a Dahua installation video. Have not touched my VTH's in a long time after a computer/network...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

New NVR should = new Hard Drives. Surveillance hard drives like Western Digital Purple series. Slap 2 in there. 14TB each. That's a good start. Can slap 2 or 4 or 6 more as you find it is needed. Of course, can never go wrong with 8 x 14TB hard drive space in total! Motion detection will...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

You can run a test run. Simply move the network patch cord from the old NVR over into the new NVR while keeping the old NVR powered on and running. Only thing you did was to remove the patch cord. Work on new NVR to add in cameras and update what you want. If something goes amiss, can always...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

We just completed an installation of a new 64 port Dahua NVR with existing cameras. Old setup: 2 x IDIS NVR and I think IDIS IP cameras from the 2010 era (at least, the NVR was built in 2010). Customer had a main building and remote building never connected via cabling so they had these 2 NVR's...

Dahua Product Availability in the U.S. ends December 31, 2025

I hate goobly gock. Not sure what this means but article does say FCC did vote today Tuesday 3-0 to go forward with the FCC ban on various China companies such as Dahua. I think, not a good sign. https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/us-agency-votes-tighten-restrictions-190043751.html
