5.9.9 - January 17, 2025 - More Pre-6.0 feature releases

Nice to see so many good changes.

Can´t wait for BI 6.0 using local GPU for inference and detection ! I can´t stand anymore messing with Ollama etc.

I just want BI to select the model and process things accordingly

[5.9.9.60] Remote management update to add desktop frame windows for connected servers, allowing you to monitor multiple locations simultaneously via the desktop client. Right-click on the Status/Remote list to find this option. Right-click in the desktop frame to select a camera group and to enable audio. This will be updated to include status display options as well.

Can anyone else verify that the time lapse feature is broken when trying to export a clip? 5.9.9.60 Mine is just greyed out, and fiddling with it I can get it checked somehow, but it does not work.
 
Never mind, I did get it to work, but the options are acting goofy. At first the check box was greyed out. Now I can't reproduce that lol

[5.9.9.61] Remote management now allows for a local camera frame window when the UI is connected to a remote server. There have been efficiency improvements as well to allow for much quicker UI transition between servers.

[5.9.9.67] Beginning with this version, we are moving to logging changes into the file “changelog.rtf” found in the Blue Iris 5 program files folder. Development will now maintain a much more verbose account of software changes going forward.

Excellent improvement! You will want to add a link to this file on your desktop!

  • New keyboard shortcut option "Move to Stored"
  • Potential fix for crash occurring when closing clips on the hour; please report "clip.close left at x" posts to status/log.
  • MQTT option to publish occasional messages as a "keep alive" for brokers who do not honor standard methods
  • Fast switching to triggered camera/s when using that stream cycle option remotely; now operates just as the console does
  • Right-click Clip list/Database option to turn off the auto-display of the DB status window in the event of DB errors
  • Tweak to the algorithm responsible for assigning license plates to vehicle objects and then selecting the best-fit image for final alert image
  • During "finalizing import" step a call to registry key rename is used instead of copy, making this orders of magnitude faster for large settings files
  • A determination to be more granular with code change logging!

I've found one change to the Help PDF that was not mentioned in the new RTF file.

I asked for this change. I needed it for my new BI_overlay_tool Powershell script that I'll be sharing soon. It modifies video overlays programmatically via the registry. The HTTP command was needed to make overlay tweaks appear instantly instead of after a camera restart.

This change was actually implemented in 5.9.9.52 (May 2025), but was not formally documented in the Help PDF until the current update 5.9.9.67.
