Well, that was perfect timing...i forgot to post back....! my desktop machine updated itself and then the camera started to work again..... just ran it on my VM and and now also working, so, didnt have to do the above...seems to have sorted itself out... -

Thought i'd chime back in. Fixed the problem...quite simple in the end...reinstalled chrome.! (just in case anyone else has the same issue) -

I dont see that atall...that being said, as i said the rear camera works fine....but its older....the one with the issue is quite a reasonably new model... -

Hi there = pretty sure i need the plugin but ill try uninstalling it....maybe a reinstall..? thanks for the reply... Edit: ive got an older one round the back of the house - DS-2DE4225IW-DE which seems to work fine....just uninstalled the plugin...still works on the rear of the house but still... -

Hi there - not been on for a while, when these things work you tend to just forget about them...! As above i think chrome has done an update of some sort as it still works in edge. When i do the live view i used to get the thin yellow box round the video area but i dont get that anymore and in... -

Can i connect an external motion detector module to a Camera (HikVision)
Thanks for the reply....im kinda thinking back to my old work place where a ptz looked over the car park but, there was a motion detector just underneath that had a 180 deg range so if the camera was pointing the absolute opposite way and some one came through the gate it would literally do a...- ComfySofa

Hi there. As above... the model of my camera is a DS-2DE4A425IWG-E The reason is (and this is the way i see it pardon the pun) - am i right in saying that the camera's motion detector only picks up motion that actually comes into its view...? Does anyone have a walkthrough on how to set up tracking on the new gui.
Ok -so not sure what happened but it appears to be working.....kind of...so theres a bunch of random blue lines everywhere....watched my nextdoor neighbour pull out of the driveway slowly and drive off down the road....the green box appeared and followed the car - it got smaller as the car went... -

Brilliant - that would be great! - its the one thing ive not been able to find - a walkthrough using my gui..! its been fine on the whole, crashed a couple of times and rebooted then it seems to have a habit (after its crashed and rebooted)of then loosing preset 2,3,4 and 5...weird...but then it... -

OK - thanks....i cant find that option but ive not looked that far through the menus (ill go and have a look now.) Again, thanks...thanks for answering all my questions....i kinda tend to learn by doing 50 things wrong and then 1 getting it right (and it then sinking in) -

Just looking at the TandemVu now...thats a bit big....chose this one as it sits on the front of the house, on the corner and up under the eves.....no one notices it (which is what i like!) plus the other thing is the price is starting to creep up!.....back to my camera - im not seeing (like i... -

ok- its not too much of a problem as i could use the camera for something else...so not the end of the world...! that being said (totally off the cuff question) - can this camera be used upside down and outside in the elements?
