Live view has stopped working on chrome. (no live video)

Hi there - not been on for a while, when these things work you tend to just forget about them...!

As above i think chrome has done an update of some sort as it still works in edge. When i do the live view i used to get the thin yellow box round the video area but i dont get that anymore and in turn a black window. If i double click to go max screen i can see video....

I thought the issue might have been firmware (there was an update) but it wasnt that.... (i thought they might have updated the downloadable extension) The model is DS-2DE4A425IWG-E but im assuming this is more a browser problem than camera...has anyone else had this??

Hi,

This happened a couple days ago when Chrome updated, the only way I found to get the video feed back on the Dahua cameras was to end the websocket server in task manager and then not install the plugin.
Some cameras need it, while other cams I don't see that it does..
Not sure what Hik uses but see if there is the websocket.
My screen is all white where the video feed should be.

Hi there = pretty sure i need the plugin but ill try uninstalling it....maybe a reinstall..? thanks for the reply...

Edit: ive got an older one round the back of the house - DS-2DE4225IW-DE which seems to work fine....just uninstalled the plugin...still works on the rear of the house but still not the front...weird

If the plugin reinstalls I still get the blank screen, when you have the cam open in chrome, try Clt, ALt, Del to bring up task manager and rightclick the websocket service and end task, then see if the video feed shows up.

I dont see that atall...that being said, as i said the rear camera works fine....but its older....the one with the issue is quite a reasonably new model...

My brothers cams was doing the same thing of not seeing the video feeds unless maximized screen in chrome. Just installed smartpss lite so now I can see the vids for my brothers dahuas. I was able to see the feeds again through chrome if I close out the websocketserver but the vid keeps blinking blank every few seconds
